  1. John, sports roof do not have roof braces under the roof, right? Coupes have 2 braces, one in the middle and one between that and rear window but my first 70 Grande and 69 Grande has the oil canning on the roof between the front brace and windshield like yours. And the 70 Grande I am working on had it too. I made a 3rd brace from a metal conduit and installed between the front brace and windshield frame on the 70 Grande I am working on to fix the issue as I did not want to try to metal work it and make it worse. It is easy to mess up a big panel like the roof unless you are a real pro at metal work. I can get you some photos of my fix if you need. A heavy layer of bed liner or self sticking sound deadener/insulation should work too; I will also be applying self sticking on the roof.
  2. Mike, 69 mirror has straight adjuster like the one you posted and 70 has 90 degree adjuster like Ridge posted. I have seen straight ends on left and right side mirrors of 1970s full size Ford, Lincoln, Mercury etc, but never tried to use them on a Mustang though.
  3. Vic, is your hood an original or a repro?
  4. Hey Vic, did you find a hood molding or is it an old one I see on your photo?
  5. By the way, I have an old set of Repops felt (made from old mold) bought long time ago to use on my 69 fastback (when I restore it); it measures 9/16". Just saw that the first photo I posted on this thread is old and new Repops felts I have in my stash; middle one is new, other two old.
  6. Look at the photo I posted above, I measured it like you did on your photo above. I set the original and repro on an aluminum block (so that the clips are not in the way) and measured them side by side; they both have scales showing their dimension on that photo.
  7. @Brian Conway PUI brand you just bought is also less than 9/16"; am I correct?
  8. Original and old repros are about 9/16", newer repros are about 7/16". Your Repops from 2020 should be 7/16". Photo below is newer Repops vs original. All the manufacturer's of the felt kit I talked to in 2018 (as far as I remember including Steele) had the same smaller diameter. I believe there is only one supplier for the extrusion and all the manufacturers including Steele use the same extrusion. Let us know the dimension if/when you buy it from Steele.
  9. Only way I know of installing all the fasteners for the instrument and clock panels is to install them on the dash pad first; otherwise you can't get to the screws for the tabs on the sides of the panels.
  10. The manufacturers I talked to wouldn't tell me the name of their suppliers, but the extrusion they used were all smaller one so that leads me to believe they all use the same supplier.
  11. Here is a photo of what I am talking about. The felts on the outside is the old material the repro companies used to use, the one in the middle is the later material. The scale on top show the difference in height. The bulb diameter is about 1/8" bigger on the old material which matches the diameter of an original Ford felt. My research is about 5 years old, may be the felt manufacturer went back to the old dimensions but I doubt it.
  12. Well, according to my research there has been a change in the dimensions of the "outer" weatherstrip at the manufacturer (extruder of the material, not Repop or PUI etc who buys the extrusion and cuts, installs clips etc) may be 10 years ago. The thickness (the diameter of the round part) has been reduced about 1/8". So you may encounter the issue of the outer weatherstrip not touching the glass no matter of how you adjust the glass. Just be warned about this issue. Due to this, I adjust/modify the window guides, where they mount to etc while doing body work to get the repro weatherstrip to seal the glass.
  13. Looks like you missed what WEEKEND CRUISER posted above. He said "I'm running a 15x8 Magnum wheel with 4.5" backspace. My tire is a Mickey Thompson ET Street radial tire size 275/60/15. And the rear has been lowered a inch from factory height. No modifications have been done to my car to make the rear tires to fit. Below is a picture of my car, hope this helps." If 275/60/15 fit in the rear with no mods, 265 will sure fit with no mods if you use a wheel with 4.5" backspacing.
  14. Metal tabs/clips should be on the plastic piece. See this thread about them.
  15. Steering column trim piece is similar between 69 and 70, but the cut out is different as 69 column is smaller diameter. That trim piece should have 2 metal tabs at the opposite ends from the screw holes which are used to hold the trim piece in place.
  16. Bob, no holes; it is attached with a "S clip".
  17. Yup, “S clip” is shown in view D in RPM’s sketch.
  18. Vic, that tab is not attached to a hole; it is attached with a “S clip” above the glove box cut out on my 69. I think it is the same “S clip” seen a few places at the sketch Rpm posted.
  19. It is the hazard flashing light switch, both 69 and 70 have it on the steering column incorporated into the turn signal switch.
  20. Looks like I'll be here forever as I have 4 more 69-70 Mustangs I need to restore.
  21. I guess with 6 years I am a newbie, a lot more to learn.
