  1. You can buy generic steel brake line at any parts store with connectors. Probably the wrong ones for stock application and right ones for non-stock newer stuff. Cut the line with a tube cutter. Use whichever fitting you can find that is correct and then with the compression coupling you can insert it anywhere in your system with confidence it won't leak.
  2. Flanders, I bought some new steel brake line with "the wrong" thread and size connector for some after market brake cylinders. I ended up cutting my existing brake like and patching the new line straight to it via a compression coupling. Picture attached. This one is steel. I used brass.
  3. Hmmm. My experience tells me you have to do one or two extremely important things before buying. First the basics 1. Physically inspect the car in person. If that's not possible then... 2. Pay a person in the car's area to do it for you. Call any reputable classic car sales dealer and they can give you the names of companies or agents who do this for a living. Oh and... 3. If you don't really know what you're looking for when inspecting a classic, take a good mechanic or pay an inspector to go with you. If you aren't too concearned about appropriate parts or the correct engine and your real concern is the feeling you are going to have when you get behind the wheel of your brand new 48 year old car, then what you absolutely and unequivocally must concern yourself with is mechanical and electrical dependability. Someone knowledgeable in these areas needs to go over that car with a fine tooth comb and tell you exactly what needs to be fixed or replaced in the first 100, 1000 and 10,000 miles you put on it. Finally, the dream car is typically worth more to you than you would like to admit, even if you aren't sure what make and model or don't really care. You will have a significant challenge avoiding a car that just isn't right because it "feels so right" and you aren't thinking clearly or practically. It happens to the best of us. For example. You may buy a car for a couple thousand more than it was worth thinking, no big deal. It will be worth that in a couple years. Then You may end up spending thousands more replacing worn out parts and upgrading things because You wanted a little more of this or a better that. End result. Either it will be a long time before your car is worth those extra thousands, or you will have the car for a long time before you get it where you want it to just be a cruiser. Lesson I've learned: wait. Cool your jets. Slow down. Be extremely careful not to pull the trigger. Figure out what you like about that car. Add the info to your memory banks if it turns out to be a money pit and be thankful you had it thoroughly inspected before paying for it. Or be thankful you had it inspected because now you're confident you have a dependable new bad ass Cammaro! Good luck!
  4. Hello Flanders, I don't know what year your car is but it occurred to me that it might interest you to set it up like a 69 model. My 69 sport roof has factory front discs and drum rear brakes. The valve is on a bracket that's attached to the metering block and the assembly is mounted on the engine bay wall right next to the master cylinder. I'm not sure if the exact parts will work on yours. Just thought it might be a good talking point to use a ford set up from a different year. I pulled a pic from WCCC for you.
  5. Mike65, thanks! That's awesome. Those are the 600 cars. I forgot they had the sports appearance group with crazy body colors. Thanks for showing examples to me! Now I know what it looks like on my car, just need to know which one I'm supposed to have.
  6. Guys. Thanks for the comments. Im almost positive it's not like the Grande. I believe (but not sure) it would have been a set of three stripes outside two one color and inside stripe a different color. I am guessing it would have been a straight stripe right down the middle of the body, not curved with the contours of the rear fender. Tape stripe options for sports appearance package 1969 sport roof: White outside stripes with gold inside Ford part# C9ZZ6320000U White with red inside Ford part# C9ZZ6320000S Black outside with red inside Ford part# C9ZZ6320000T i believe these were the only three options and depended on exterior and interior color of the car. But I can't find any photographic examples except one and there's no guarantee it's the correct style. Just that car also had sports appearance group with tape stripe. I'll attach a picture of that car and an original document that came with it. I will also attach a picture of my Marti report. The Marti report is my car, the other two images are just for the sake of example on a different car that I can't confirm.
  7. Brian. Yup. It's on the Marti report. And although I don't have my original build sheet or window sticker, I have seen it on other ones. "Sports appearance group with tape stripe" images below
  8. Hello all!I can't solve my riddle and I need help if you have it. My car is a 1969 mustang sport roof Deluxe. 63B body with "Sports appearance group with tape stripe". Not Standard. Not Mach 1. Not GT. When originally sold the build sheets and any/all other paperwork for these cars listed "with tape stripe" if it had the stripes included in the sports appearance group. I have discovered there are three possible tape stripe part numbers (color combinations) for my car but I don't know which went on mine. Supposedly it was based on interior and exterior colors. These are not Mach 1 stripes and not GT stripes. They are specific to this year only and specific to the sports appearance group. Apparently there would have been a list/diagram/poster/etc at the assembly line to let builders know which stripe to add to a car based on body style, interior color, exterior color, and package. Does anyone know where I can find this info? I tried Marti. I tried a buddy with antique micro fish. The color of stripes just isn't listed with sales documents period. thanks!
