69Stanger408 reacted to bigmal in Taillight LED bulb replacments
I went for the CJPP LEDs. In Australia you can't have the brake lights blinking so I did a little mod. I also added a brake light under the spoiler. Walking past the rear you can't se it until you crouch down. Not for everyone but I want to lessen the chances of a rear ender.

69Stanger408 got a reaction from JayEstes in 69 door lock assembly
Take it out, clean it and lube up the moving parts with wheel bearing grease. Also check the tension on the lock and door rods. I ran into the same issue, once I greased them up and made sure the tension was minimal at rest with the pull rods, they work like a champ.

69Stanger408 got a reaction from Shep69 in Holley or Edelbrock
Little more of a cost, but you cannot go wrong with a Holley Sniper EFI unit. EFI brings the benefits of current technology into the classic car era without altering the look of the engine, looks just like a carb.

69Stanger408 got a reaction from spogshd in Need help choosing disc brakes with no booster
I have the Wilwood MC, works great. I made a mounting plate out of aluminum to cover the booster holes and make for a clean look.

69Stanger408 reacted to Mach1 Driver in Install Gear Remote & Scott Drake Trunk Release
He had a bad relay in the first case, and that explains all his problems getting it to work properly. A diode is only useful on the coil terminals 85 and 86 to short out the backward EMF when the relay is powered down. Dampening the voltage spike would make the drive electronics happier, and last longer.

69Stanger408 reacted to mustangstofear in 67 fastback
It looks like our customer has decided he wants us to paint the car. Original he just wanted all the body work done and in final primer. He just bought a wrecked 2020 GT convertible with 1200 miles on it for the drive train. Price wise he's came out pretty good. 8400.00 for a Gen 3 with a 10R80 is a good deal :)

69Stanger408 reacted to Midlife in Body shop cost switcheroo
Your first step is to examine the written estimate and all verbiage associated with that contract. From there, you can make a determination whether to consult a lawyer or not.

69Stanger408 reacted to copb8 in Body shop cost switcheroo
What has been their online reputation? Have you looked at their BBB listing?
There's no way they shouldn't have contact you to let you know that the written estimate they provided was being so grossly exceeded and give you an explanation as to why. As a professional shop they should be able to estimate their work far closer to the actual hours than what they did. It seems like a bait and switch job to me.

69Stanger408 reacted to Vicfreg in Vintage Air activation wire
I would install the relay in the wire going to the compressor, not the way Holley recommended it. I advise checking with Vintage Air to see how they usually use a WOT interface with their system. Putting in series with the Binary/Trinary safety switch is what I would do, but they for sure have dealt with this before.

Go with TMI, that should jack you up in the air high enough.
