  1. Ya no... At this point I am trying to patiently wait knowing that it''ll look great and done professionally and I'm getting a lot more than I am paying for it. I don't want to rush it, plus I'm gathering all I need to get for the interior. Then there's what I have planned for the lighting. Its coming in slowly after each paycheck. I have to cash flow the rest of the items and work needed.
  2. With the flu running rampant, the progress of the Mustang has come to a crawl on the bodywork. But I did get some progress pics this weekend. Hoping it picks up this week.
  3. I am getting close to needing to have all the items I need or want to replace for the interior of the car. So I found on Craigslist a complete set of 05-09 Mustang seats. Has anyone made this sort of swap before? I have searched but haven't come up with someone doing this exact swap. The driver has power options and I saw someone remove those pieces. Also my car is a coupe and so I'm not sure how to modify the rear seats to work. So should I just pass this great deal and go with some aftermarket option?
  4. Okay so now I would officially classify my car as in "paint shop purgatory". It was supposed to be completed this week, but as you can see they haven't gotten past the stripping stage. So now we are moving onto the door jams and basically the parts that you don't see. When this will be completed? I don't know maybe the end of February... More like in a "Jamaican minute" (when we get there)
  5. Not much progress this week. Its been unseasonably cold and snowing. Supposedly bodywork will be in full swing next week.
  6. The painter sent me a few more pics late yesterday.
  7. Some updates with the bodywork. Of course slower than what I want, but I know the work is being done properly. In the mean time I have ordered some POR15 and also some sound deadening mats for when I get it back from paint...sometime later...
  8. Excited about the goodies I got for Christmas from wife and in-laws. Mach 1 black carpet with red inserts, TMI red carbon fiber style door panels, door sill plates, and armrest pads.
  9. I have decided to go with arctic white with black out rear and hood. Sort of like this
  10. Got some progress pics of the bodywork and paint portion of this build. Of course I don't plan on seeing the final product until well in January with the holidays fast approaching.
  11. I would highly recommend that you have something on top to protect everything that is now on the top of the tank. Here is what I did for mine
  12. Excited that the car is now officially in the "paint-n-body" stage. As I get photos from him I will post the progress.
  13. its best to have them take the doors, hood and trunk off the car to paint
  14. trying to locate something to use that will fit with the brakes
  15. Back from the frame shop and she's sitting level now. Not sure what they did but its fixed. Had my son help out removing the old insulation on the floor, removing the surface rust. Making some new wires to replace the current one that will help clean up all the new wiring that directly ties to the battery. Disappointed about the wiper delay module. After wasting hours trying to make it work, it was removed so that I could at least have 2 speeds! This week I believe the car will be picked up to go to bodywork and paint. We will see how that pans out...
  16. Update this week. Sent over to the frame shop to see why passenger front side has the 1 inch drop. Hope that its easily fixed. Also should get a ETA of when the car will be starting the bodywork and painting.
  17. Custom tank armor has been installed and some wire protection to protect all that new wiring.
  18. Dropped by the shop today to see the progress and drop off some old parts to diagnose the issue with the instrument panel gauges not working. Also talked with the painter about the work to be done and the timeline. AC is in and working, EFI is in and working, scoops are on. Hood is ready to go. Hinges on the doors, getting close to this phase completed. Hopefully today he will figure out the problem with either the circuit board or the voltage regulator.
  19. I was thinking about something like this since I can't get a answer from the tank armor guy about the amount of space between the tank and the armor, since all the fuel lines are now on the top with the EFI tank. Looking good...
  20. FYI, I am currently having the vintage air setup on my 69/351w which there has been some issues. The compressor bracket is too high so that the lines on the top wouldn't allow the hood to close. It was shortened to allow it to fit. Hope you don't run into that problem...
  21. Update on the car. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics, though a lot of it is behind the dash and not really noticeable for the work completed. Holley Sniper is mounted and the wiring is in the process of going thru the firewall. The AC bracket had to be modified (2 inches cut out) to lower it so the cooling lines wouldn't interfere with the hood. Also the heater tube had to be cut and welded to clear the firewall. The duct work and wiring has been completed for the AC set up. The fuel lines have been installed and the electric fuel pump hooked up as well. I brought over the 1970 fuel neck and its the correct bend to fit with the EFI tank. When I go by next week I'm guessing a lot of things will be buttoned up with AC and EFI in working condition and hopefully start on the bodywork/rust repair. Still having a problem finding a paint shop that will actually do old cars or one that doesn't charge more than the car is worth. Until next time...
  22. Since you have some updates to the engine bay, I would consider some sort of split sleeving to protect the wires and clean things up. I purchased this on Amazon and have been pleased with the results. My goal is to clean things up and also make it easier to work on in the future. For me personally I'm not going for the fresh from the factory look, but clean and useful. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VSTFMI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  23. Completed the instrument panel rebuild with Electro-Luminescent kit. So far very pleased with the outcome. I'll keep you posted on how it comes together when its in the car. 24. So on a sideline note - I picked this up on the weekend. 1970 F100. Previous owner had it for 16 years. Well maintained (a lot rebuilt) and will take a little to get it in great shape. Its red, loud and never saw a gas station it didn't like ;)
