  1. haha....and worthless it shall remain my friend, worthless it shall remain. you just have no imagination that's all.
  2. check it out, pretty darn nice. i like it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310030148744&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting oh, and they have a matching hood scoop grill as well http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-70-Mustang-mach-1-hood-scoop-custom-grille-grill_W0QQitemZ270219392132QQihZ017QQcategoryZ140704QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. everything you have planned sounds good, though i would consider going with a slightly smaller cam if you plan on driving it a bunch
  4. no pics but they are side specific, it's easy to turn them upside down and try to install them on the wrong side as well, since it looks they'll almost fit that way. also part of the windlace goes bhind the 1/4 panel trim too.
  5. that's definitely a lumpy cam with the 230/236 @ .050 duration and the 110 LSA doesn't help much there either, generally a wider LSA will help tame the idle.
  6. first off stock 80's windsor heads suck balls, ditch them for something else, even GT-40P heads, but i'd look for some cheap aftermarket aluminum heads, even used ones. i've seen a bunch of places on ebay selling the aluminum ford racing x-303/x-305 heads for like 900 bucks or so. also think about getting a set of aftermarket rods, scat and eagle both make decent forged i-beam rods for around 300 bucks or so. after that i'd go with a main cap girdle and a lifter valley girdle as well if you're going for 600hp. obviously forged pistons are a must as well at that level. stock crank will be fine but you should think about upgrading it anyway at some point. a custom grind roller cam will really help wring the most out of the turbo combo as well. i know this isn't what you really wanted to hear but if you're going for that much power and don't want to be building a new junkyard motor every year or less you really need to upgrade these parts at least. the aluminum heads will help a lot since they won't develop hot spots in the combustion chamber like iron heads and with 20psi of boost the last thing you want is detonation. what i would do is run the current motor as is for now and just take it easy so you don't kill it before you get the new one built. if all else fails you could build the hort block for now and use your original heads off the current motor in the car as they are a much better head then the 80's model heads and upgrade to aluminum heads later. here is the lifter valley girdle i was referring to http://www.horsepowersales.net/main.html
  7. i've not seen anyone making a 17" repro of them but they use the same outer rim as the magnum 500 so in theory you could have the centers put in a 17" magnum 500 hoop. www.paradisewheelsinc.com does restorations of the shelby wheels so maybe they can help you out with this.
  8. the cobra one is cool, i like it. i had also imagined a ghost rider type of horse skull, sort of like the horse in the movie, i guess. i'v about decided on my next tat as well, pretty sure it's going to be some variation on the old cobra on wheel decal from the early 70's, like on the 69/70 torina cobras. my current tat is a small rebel flag on my upper left arm, but it's not a racial thing though, just a southern thing and a reminder that sometimes it's a good idea to stand up to what you believe whether someone says it's wrong or not and also that a little revolution every now and then is ultimately a good thing, to be a rebel, not necessarily the civil warbut i think y'all understand. also thinking of doing a crossed flags thing with it and get a Texas flag crossed in with it. then add a quote from a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, maybe from Simple Man or Tuesdays Gone or something, or maybe even the poem that Chralie Daniels wrote after the plane crash killed Ronnie Van Zant and Steve and Cassie Gaines., if no one is familir with the poem it can be found on the back cover of the Charlie Daniels Album "Million Mile Reflections", it would be sort of a tribute to the member of Skynyrd as well as other musical heroes and my many friends and family that have passed on. in other words, if you get a tat get something that means something to you, not just something that looks cool. for me the cobra on wheels would be more as my being a gearhead really than anything else, not necessarily ford or mustang related in and of itself but definitely ford related and also as a symbol of the era i was born in. my wife is a big collector of "Marvin the Martian" memorabilia and she has a small Marvin on her butt
  9. fairly certain the gold ones are real TM's but the gray ones look pretty well made too.
  10. i understand that, i do things like that as well. that's why i have a garage full of parts for a cougar i don't even officially own yet......
  11. bet it feels good to be making progress again huh?
  12. like the old man said...."speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?"
  13. looking good, can't wait to see this poiny back on the open range (road?)

  17. can't wait to see more pics once you start working on it again.
  18. well not exactly, the early stang wheels have a smaller center hub hole that won't fit over the lincoln hubs, at least factory wheels won't anyway. the dodge cop car wheels also have the same bolt pattern and the center hub hole is the right size to fit over the lincoln hub. besides i don't have any extra wheels from the stang that i'd want to put on the town car. the cop car wheels will work just fine and i can keep the original wire hub caps so it will still look stock. i just want a wider wheel and tire so the brakes will actually stop the car instead of just immediately locking up.
  19. yeah it has a nice cushy ride and all the power goodies, even has rear defroster and heated power mirrors. :santa: the power seats and automatic headlights are nice too. plus it has an EFI 5.0 in it.
  20. i've got a set of 15x7 dodge cop car wheels that i'll probably put on it instead of the stock 15x6 wheels and i'll put the stock wire hub caps back on when the new tires that are on it wear out and i'll probably put some 245/60-15's on it with blackwalls out just so it will have more rubber on the road so the brakes will work better. other than that i'm just going to put in a cd player, a keyless entry kit, which i already have, and tint the windows.
  21. it's like this one but brown and tan
  22. ooh, lot's of nice pretty new stuff to play with. i like new stuff to play with, but haven't gotten any in a while, unless you count my new (to me) 86 lincoln town car with 75K original miles and the interior and paint job are almost perfect!!!!! and with my back problems it sure is nice to drive compared to the old 93 cherokee, which i do miss already but i think the lincoln is much nicer car overall. i have to get used to driving a tank again though, it's been a few years since i drove a tuna boat.
  23. yeah, i like that part a lot too. but my favorite is when that box arrives at the door and you tear it open like a kid on christmas morning
