hapedVem reacted to uncledoodoo in convertible boot snaps
My car is nearly 100% done, just finishing a few cosmetics, but the boot won't snap to the snaps on the interior panels. The snaps have a phillips head screw which prevents the mail snap on the cover from mating. Can someone point me to a snap replacement kit?

hapedVem reacted to Vicfreg in 393 stroker thermostat
I'm putting together my 351 W based stroker. It is a 393, and was built on a block that was already .030 over. So, at around .040, I am concerned with it running hot. I have a friend with a similar set up that is running a 160 deg Thermostat. That seems too low. I want to run a 190 deg, but at that temperature, it won't be full open until 210 deg
I am going to use a champion 4 row radiator with 2 - 12" fans, controlled by a Derale PWM box. I have A/C. I have an Edelbrick Victor high flow water pump.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I have not purchased the radiator yet.

hapedVem reacted to newstang in 69-70 Inside engine bay dims?
Hi all, I found a few people who have some dimensions for the aprons, however they have shock towers and i wont have them.
Problem is there are no real reference points to measure from. I need the Inside dims and length. all I have found is where someone measured from the apron bolt holes which really wont give me a good starting point.

hapedVem reacted to Chris'69Mach in WTS Original 69 Mach 1 Seats
All original and in great condition except the foam needs replaced. I was going to reupholster them but decided to buy new seats from TMI. I have a new set of TMI seat covers included. $650.00 I would prefer not to ship. These would be a bear to ship and the cost would be crazy money I am sure.

Got new deluxe door panels from mustang market. Anyone have a clue how to attach the strips to the door panel side? The originals were stapled on.

hapedVem reacted to Stangboy in Export brace reinforcement plate?
A few questions. I am in the process of straightening and reinforcing the front end of my car. Looking to run a one piece export race and weld the reinforcement plate to the cowl area. First, what is the circular hole in the center of the cowl for? It had a rubber plug in it, but it crumbled when I removed it.
Will it matter if the top of this hole is open after the plate is welded in?
It seems the holes in the plate don't line up with the holes in the cowl. Do I ream out the holes in the plate? Or the cowl? Or do I really need it?
Thanks.

hapedVem reacted to Mike65 in WTB interior lights.
I am not going to use the dome light in my 69 Coupe & wanted to either make sail panels for my Coupe & mount Mach-1 sail panel lights in them or mount them in the side panels below the rear side windows & was wondering if anyone has an old set (doesn't have to be working ones) I can purchase to use to mock up to see if my idea will work before & buy new ones. Even if you only have 1 light that is really all I need.

hapedVem reacted to machm1970 in Rim blow restoration
Has anyone had any luck restoring a rim blow wheel yourself? I know there's companies that do it, but I'd rather save the money if I could do it myself.
Thanks,

hapedVem reacted to copb8 in Help Eliminating Rattle Inside Front Passenger Quarter Panel
I've been chasing a huge rattle since I bought the car in October. I first thought it was suspension related since it only happened as I hit any road imperfections and it seemed to be minimized if I were on the brakes at the time of hitting the brakes. I've replaced several front suspension pieces and very thoroughly checked out the rest of the components. I also removed and properly remounted the cowl cover which was it's on source of noise.
Now after tapping endless on the car I think it's coming from within the front passenger quarter panel. There's a buzzy rattle when I tap certain ways in that area. The thing is it's behind where the Mustang insignia is on the lower section of the panel behind the front wheel well. After some looking around I can't see any way to access that area. I'm hoping you guys have some insight and that I can avoid removing the whole panel.
Thanks.

hapedVem reacted to Bob & Sue in New to forum new to us 69 Coupe
Hi All,
New to this forum we've been on several forums for boats just sold our Sea Ray several months ago the time, money and maintenance just got to be to much, started a search for a muscle car several months ago finally found one several weeks ago we liked 2 owner 61,000 miles with all documentation from delivery to present. I'm going to order a Marti report even though I have the hand written original order from Harrold Ford in Sacramento it's hard to read it states order with Specific GT Package options, Air Conditioning, Handling Package etc. So I'm confused if it's a true GT build but it really doesn't matter to me either way at this point.
69 Mustang Coupe 351w 290hp automatic front discs engine has a mild cam, Holley Street Avenger & Dominator manifold, new gas tank. Needs some small things done but in overall good condition NO Rust.
We've owned many muscle & race cars over the years hope to turn this one into a nice weekender.
Some history of cars owned and raced.
I've been into cars since I was 12 yrs old first car was a 40 chev with a built 283 in it that I sold to buy a 47 Fiat Topolino with a 288 cu in sb that ran 10.38 141 mph in B/A holding the mph NHRA speed record in 1967 sold that and starting racing funny cars, top fuel dragsters and SS/A & SS/AA Plymouth Cuda's & Challengers. Have also done a couple body off restorations but have no desire to do another one.

hapedVem reacted to Mike65 in What clutch to use with a T-5 5spd.
I was starting to look at clutches for the 1987 T-5 5spd I am going to be putting in my 69 Coupe. I looked at a Ram HDX clutch that fits mid 86 - 01 Mustangs,
http://www.americanmuscle.com/ram-hdx-t5-t45-clutch.html?utm_content=Driveline+-+Clutch%7CRAM&utm_campaign=79-04%20No%20Years&utm_source=Google-pla&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_term=%7Bkeyword%7D&AMID=ram-hdx-t5-t45-clutch-FPReplacementV1&T5_Var3=blue&GID=34000
I also looked at King Cobra style clutch 10.5" V-8 1986 - 2001 Mustangs.
http://www.cjponyparts.com/cj-pony-parts-clutch-kit-king-cobra-style-10-5-v8-1986-2001/p/CK110/?gclid=Cj0KEQiAhZPDBRCz642XqYOCpb8BEiQANUcwTz_XXlcEqnLK33bq7JlIx-_9tHCMhJsJmWdHHBEDFhgaAlWj8P8HAQ
I was also looking at these from LMR either stock replacement, mild performance, or high performance.
https://lmr.com/products/79-93-Mustang-Clutch-Components
The 302/5.0 will have TFS heads, edelbrock intake, & TFS cam, the 9" rear will have 3.50 gears. There are a lot of choices, any thoughts or suggestions?.

hapedVem reacted to machm1970 in Power steering cooler
I'm thinking of adding a power steering cooler. I was looking at the original boss 302 style (I like stock looking mods). The boss 302/428 units were small and in the engine compartment. Could these have done much of anything? I'm thinking I'd be better off mounting one in front of the radiator or mounted to the lower radiator support.
Thoughts?
Matt
