  1. Ok Ridge here's your next challenge, make a shaker base for twin carbs !!
  2. Your gonna have some fun getting two carbs to fit under a shaker.
  3. Bit hard to do, if possible you need to keep the upper mount above your shoulder so you don't compress your spine in an accident, and yes I know a lot of people mount them lower but it is not ideal.
  4. My bad, I need to pay more attention !. Keep the photos coming, looking forward to seeing a finished hood.
  5. I'm loving this topic it's fascinating to see how these moulds are made, it sure is a lot of work. After you finish the moulds are you going to assemble the two halves and have yourself a full metal hood ?.
  6. Power brakes use a different pedal and it mounts in the hole at the very top of the support.
  7. What you have done is almost the same as the front suspension from RRS.
  8. And if that is a repro bumper you might have to make your own brackets because the original bracket may be too short. Some repro bumpers are wider than the original.
  9. Might be expensive but it looks like they have done a very nice job.
  10. Great pics, looks like it's in a movie.
  11. I did the opposite, I kinda liked the idea of the fiberglass because they are a bit unusual so I found another one for the other side.
  12. Mine is almost the same age, produced on August 27, 1968, serial number 100303 and was also Silver Jade.
  13. Wow, so much debate and so much bad information, all he needed to do was adjust the hinges. The reason body shop guys and assembly line workers bash and bend things is because they need to get it out the door as quickly as possible and get onto the next car but 50 years later that is never the best solution. Take the striker off, adjust the door and refit the striker ,simple, easy.
  14. They will look great with the dark paint, I'm glad they did not go with those awful black wheels.
  15. The best point is something that will not move up and down when you go over a bump, so the tires are the best point along with the diff housing and the front lower control arms. You don't want to tie it to the body because the straps will come loose when the suspension compresses on a bump.
  16. You probably just need a tiny adjustment of the hinges, due to the length of the door a small adjustment at the hinge equates to quite a large movement at the rear of the door.
  17. Those repro handles are crap, the internal parts are for an earlier model and don't fit, get some original Ford handles and get them rechromed.
  18. 69's used both metal and fibreglass, my car had one of each from the factory. I believe all 70's are metal.
  19. Well you have two main choices, bolt in or weld in, it just depends whether you are willing to cut your car up or not. I don't like cutting up classic cars but it's your car so you can do whatever you want with it.
  20. Yep, I had exactly the same problem, and the push knobs are all wobbly and loose. I would get the originals rechromed if I did it again.
  21. The guy on the assembly line used to do them in 5 minutes, but I guess he had a bit of practice.
  22. That's pretty cool but it still does not solve the problem of the mirrors being too small and you can't see anything in them. I wish somebody would make a larger mirror in the same style as the original mirror.
