  1. Sue had her last round of chemo today, got to ting the bell. Just wrapping up the cold caps now. Yahoo!!!!! Meet with radiation team in 2 weeks, so hopeful for a good 2021 Thanks guys for all the thoughts and prayers
  2. Wife had chemo cough attack, so wasn’t able to make it out there this morning. When I called him back, parts wanted were already gone. Case of snooze ya lose. Mexico car? might explain why he prob didn’t have a title or want to do a bill of sale.
  3. Anybody seen these on a 69 coupe before? Car has wood grain clusters, factory tach, console, 4 speed, 4V 302, power front disc brakes, 9”, with Grande pattern seat Upolstrey. Guy won’t sell me the car, which is complete, or understand where the door tag or vin is. so going to get what I can, taking the trailer just in case.
  4. Found a guy parting out a 69, wants 800 for the wood grain dash clusters, tach and clock and inner/outer harness, I’m pulling. 400 for the 4 speed with factory shifter. 300 for d shaft and 9”. guy int sell the whole car to me, doesn’t have the title. Told him a signed bill of sale works for me, but he won’t do it.
  5. Like the sticker says, "Ok to Look, but please don't touch"
  6. No sir, I replaced cam and lifters. I ended up taking short block and heads to a local, very knowledgible Ford engine guy- —“looked like a Chevy guy built the heads”, wrong springs, valves cut wrong, and he didn’t replace guides. Springs had to much poundage, thus the cam/lifters. Was just a matter of time before rest of the lobes went flat. —oil passage was clogged, looked like spider egg sacks mixed with dirt dobber dirt. — —top two rings on two pistons were welded to pistons Like the old Fram commercial said and what I told my brother, “you can pay me now or pay for it later” Looks like it going to be around 3500 to rehone cylinders, sonic test block, rebuild heads, turn crank, new pistons and bearings to keep the original 390 for the car at .40 over.
  7. Congrats on finding one. Looking forward to watching the build, so Keep the pics coming. This club has a wealth of knowledge waiting to be shared, some with a little humor of course.
  8. If the drive shaft is not a solid tube, one slid inside the other, it’s best to just have one made. Not worth trying to balance a two piece. Believe a new shaft with u joints cost me right under 200 with me supplying the trans yoke
  9. Front, without touching rivets. Control ball has to be turned as if to stop flow
  10. I just pulled them out, on both the 69 and 70. Replaced felt and then popped them in
  11. What about using the flexible aluminum dryer duct, comes in 3", to connect to sch 40 pvc pipe. you could then put a bathroom exhaust fan on the end of that to help draw it out. May also check into "coflex", flexible exhaust duct
  12. Soaked the lifters, pumped them up, used whole tube of cam lube on cam and each lifter, and purple break in oil. Weird it’s just on left side and only on the exhaust. Brother is pretty upset, but as I reminded him, should have gone thru the whole motor before putting it back in after sitting 17 plus years with heads and pan off attached to a stand.
  13. Got his car back out to my house 2 weeks ago was able to spend an hour on it today. Found the problem, exhaust lifters 5, 7, and 8
  14. Yes, happy tears First round of chemo went ok. Changed the caps out 18 times over 9 hours, with one of them being on the side of the highway on the way home. She hasn't lost any of her hair yet, so well worth it. The first 5 days after chemo were as to be expected I guess from what I'd read, but one hell of an emotional roller coaster with it changing from a laugh, to her curled up in a ball on the floor crying she cant do it anymore. We go back next week for the second of the 4 treatments and plan on kicking this one too. My wife is such the warrior!! Thanks guys for all your support and prayers
  15. lol, the blue cool pack cap made me look old and fat in the face, just 55
  16. First round of chemo happens today. Sue has had a roller coaster of emotions the last 2 weeks. Had a trial run last night with the cool caps last night at -10c, today will be a -30c rotating them every 25 min for 6 1/2 hours, just trying to keep her hair. Took one for the team to keep her spirits up.
  17. Just a suggestion, I tested everything even the ign before putting it all back together on my last build, saved me a couple steps back
  18. Did what Mach1Rider suggested, she started crying!!
  19. Will do, that’s awesome!!
  20. Surgery went well, margins clear and lymph nodes negitive!! 12 weeks of chemo starts in 3 weeks and she has a positive outlook on it. Thanks again guys for all your prayers and support.
  21. Team Work going on, looks awesome to the both of you!! Who gets to drive it first?
  22. Took her out for a spin today with no major issues!! A couple of rattles need to be located/fixed, get the front end aligned, new exhaust, and she’ll be good to go.
  23. Got to work on the car last Sat am, installed the new proportioning valve, bled brakes. Took new proportioning valve off, filed top of block, installed new cooper washer, bled brakes and FINALLY all looks good. Good pedal and brakes stop rear brakes. First test drive coming soon!!
  24. Last Thursday we hit another hurdle, last results came in from biopsy and cancer appears to be more aggressive than orig thought. Chemo will be required to lower her chance of it reoccurring. Sue had the surgery today, lumpectomy, all went well and we are back at home. We go back next week to meet with the chemo dr and then thurs for post op with surgeon. Thanks guys and girls for all your thoughts and prayers
