Update. I ended up going with PS Engineering wheels. 17x8 4.5" backspace with 245/45 On front and 17x9 5.25 backspace with 255/45 On rear. Was a bit worried about clearance on rear with 275/40, but will get them once these wear out. What do you all think? 17s do not look like to much rim on these classic muscle cars?

ok, I will post the exact part numbers that I would use maybe tonight or tomorrow . Summit racing has 90% of the parts.
i typically use je, race tech,or mahle pistons.
i would get an internally balanced crank.
i would use a 1 piece rear main seal.
i use ati dual inertia ring crank dampers for street strokers.
you should have your deck height verified before buying anything as it may affect the rods or pistons that you need.
when they zero deck your block it will also automatically square it up to the crank journals.

you also stated you had your block machined so you may need custom pistons and they still need to machine the deck.

I would agree you have a '69 Pump, and yes, the pressure outlet on that style is a male connection with the female connector on the hose.  I have also read a '70 style uses a female fitting on the pump, but I have not seen one myself.

Here's a picture of mine with 15x7s, but you'll have a shorter tire, so about the same. SoT coilovers and mid-eye leafs.

I think he went with Team III wheels. I actually called the guy to make me a custom set but it he didn't want to build them "my way". The website has a list of sizes and offsets and should be easy to order from. I like the wheel you selected better than the Team III personally.
Here is a link to some vintage T/A cars that might give you some ideas. http://www.ponysite.de/transam_news0.htm A guy on VMF linked it a few weeks back. I am attempting my own T/A themed build with a Pro Touring twist, complete with the 1" nose drop, side exhaust and a bunch of other inspired bits. I can highly recommend the SoT suspension route (haven't driven it yet lol), you will not be disappointed.

I love the mini lite styled rims. They will look fantastic and will add that T/A theme you are after. I will do a build with that style one day. I like the shape of the spokes, adds a little flair to a timely design. This is an example that I look at often as a clean look. Modern sized wheels that don't look so modern.

Dang Mike, you beat me to it! I couldn't agree more. The only issue with larger wheels that are cast is if you don't have enough side wall on the tires, you have a greater chance of bending the wheel. I would think the 45 and 55 series you picked are enough tire to not worry. The 112mm backspace should work fine on your front end.

Same thing I'm looking at but not sure if I need the 35 spline since I'm looking at getting 285 drag radials and possibly caltracs

I went with the Strange rear end and axles when I swapped out my c6 with a AOD. True Trac with 3.70 gear 31spline.

The stock pedal works fine with the Lokar cable. Spend your money on something more worth while, just my opinion.

    All,

I am in the process of collecting the parts for my AOD swap. Can anyone tell me what slot size is needed for the 69 OEM shifter linkage bolt to the transmission arm? I want to use the fully adjustable one from Lokar:
    http://www.lokar.com/product-pgs/autotrans-access-parts/accessparts-product-pgs/fordaod-selctarm.html

Lokar offers two sizes that would be based on the bolt size from the stock shifter bolt at the transmission. Can anyone tell me which one to use?
ATA-1000 Ford AOD Selector Shaft and Arm 1/4" slot and hole ATA-1001 Ford AOD Selector Shaft and Arm 5/16" slot

Sean D got a reaction from AMBISBUTS in 351C C6 to AOD Swap
    Hello everyone,
I have a 69 Mustang with a stock 70 351C and C6 transmission. I think the C6 is on its last leg and am considering a AOD swap, or spend ~$1000 on c6 rebuild (beefed up for future rebuild). In the future I am thinking 351W stroker 408 with about ~500 hp so the transmission would need to handle the hp. Or just build the cleveland to ~500 hp, but can decide later as that is a few years away. I see a lot of articles online and in this forum about converting c4 or FMX transmissions to AOD and that there are parts and conversion kits available for such. Also most of these conversion kits are for 289, 302 and 351W. But I cannot find much information or conversion kits for my 70' 351C and C6 to AOD (with 4r70w internals for longevity and increased hp capacity). Can you all knowing owners please point me to some information or list of parts needed for this type of swap. Can I use the 351w parts? What about the yoke and drive shaft?    Thank you,   Sean
