I love driving down the road on a nice day. Top is down and the 69 is running good. That is the best feeling in the world until a cooler car comes up and passes you.

Topless69GT got a reaction from AlexissRet in Under dash wire harness - what is it worth
I have an under dash wire harness that was redone and converted to tach/ac. I don't need it and I have someone interested in buying it. The problem is that I don't have a clue what it is worth? I want to be fair on the price. Any ideas what it is worth?

    Topless69GT got a reaction from Xde4hewkew in 69 GT Convertible - advice
I am thinking about selling my 69 GT Convertible. It is in mid restoration and I am either going to have to put it in storage or sell it. I fear that I won't get out of it what I need at this point to make selling it an option. The car is in fantastic shape. It is well optioned and is a true GT. Options: GT equipment group, A/C, FMX, trac-lok, clock, visibility group, pdb-front, PS, AM/FM (missing), interior decor group, tinted glass and front bumper guards. Originally Royal Maroon with black top and interior. The car has had a complete tear down and body work. It had acapulco blue paint applied several months ago. The paint and body work is awsome on this car. Engine is rebuilt and ready to go in. Things that are needed: FMX transmission, Drivers seat frame since the current one is bent, upholstery, carpet, dash pad and interior door panels. Assembly and a little TLC. A local mustang restoration shop quoted me 10K max to finish the car. I feel the car would be worth 40K + or so when complete. Open to realistic offers. This maybe the only time this car is for sale. Once it goes into storage it will sit until I can finish it.

Pics of the finished tach cluster for my car. It is going to look great once I get it installed. Had the clock side refinished last month and it looks great as well. Just sent the rim blow wheel out to be refinished.

Topless69GT got a reaction from mandyse1 in FiTech Go EFI question
So my FiTech Go EFI arrived today. Well at least the fuel command center did. Still waiting on the actual EFI unit. My question relates to the vent line from the fuel command center back to the tank. It states the fuel tank needs to be vented and a vent return line needs to be installed back to the tank. What have you seen done to run a return line back to a stock style tank. Also is the stock tank considered vented? I can't imagine that pressure would build up in the stock style tank. I would think the stock style pop open gas cap would not seal that well and pressure build up would not be an issue.

Topless69GT got a reaction from kerryaw69 in 351W lifter clatter issue
I finished my car this spring (well you are never really finished) and I have been working bugs out of the car and I am nearly there. The only issue I have left to tackle is the lifter noise on my 351W. The engine was totally rebuilt and I thought the noise (clattering) was timing related but it is not. I get it when ever I push on the gas. The car seems to run fine but I am growing tired of the noise. It is not a major amount of lifter noise but enough to irritate me. I have had many 289, 302 and 351's and never had one with lifter noise after rebuild.

Topless69GT got a reaction from jimmyqp69 in Fuel injection on 351W? what product?
I am looking a couple winter projects on my 69 GT Convertible with 351W.

1.) Coil over suspension and R&P steering
2.) Fuel injection on 351W - need to fix lifter clatter first
    3.) Overdrive transmission

I think I am going to tackle #1 and #2 this winter and the O/D trans over summer 2016.

My question has anyone had experience with any of the bolt on fuel injection systems out there? The two I see out there are the Edelbrock system and the MSD Atomic system. I am open to suggestions about other products as well. I plan on using the stock air cleaner and want it to appear as close to stock when installed.

Topless69GT got a reaction from JayEstes in Wiring problem. Car won't turn over at times
Finally got it fixed. Both of the Auto Zone remanufactured starters were junk. I finally grabbed the old rusty looking one that I pulled off the car 5 years ago when I started the restoration. I put it on the car and it fired right up and the car started after it was warm. Both problems solved with my old crusty original starter being put on the car. I will pull it off next weekend and detail it so it looks nice. The parts being sold as remanufactured these days seem to be junk. I don't recall having these issues in the 80's and 90's with remanufactured parts.

Topless69GT got a reaction from CiaraFife in Interior A pillar trim convertible
I am selling a reproduction set of interior A-Pillar trim fro a convertible. These are not plastic like the originals but are fiberglass. They look real good and were never installed in my car. I ran across a real nice original set and used those on my car instead. A friend of mine used a set of these on his car and he had to work with them a little bit to get them to fit perfect but they look great when installed. He had to sand areas on the backside to get them to fit correctly. He spent about a 1/2 hour getting each one to fit. These were over $100 for the pair when new. Best offer.

I started a new thread for my Mustang update because I could not add photos to the old post for some reason. It is very close to being done. After having many issues with the convertible top well liner I finally had to tell TMI to stuff it and got one from Distinctive industries. I was very happy with National Parts Depot and how they bent over backwards to help get a well liner that was made correctly. I have been buying from them for years and will always look to them first for parts.
