  1. Thank you. It turned out to be the reproduction sending unit that was bad from the start.
  2. My fuel gauge has never worked since the car was restored. I assumed it was the sending unit in the gas tank. I was going to address the issue this spring. However, I got the car out of storage a couple weeks ago and now it is working about 1/2 the time and is reading accurately when it does work. Need some help trying to figure out what the issue might be. Is it the gauge, wiring, or the sending unit?
  3. I was involved with this post when it started. When I installed my FiTech EFI I was not going to run a return line. I ended up running the return line to the filler neck after reading posts, most notably the one from Larryc94.Just wanted to update what I ended up doing.
  4. I am going with the wheel vintiques. Also going to NAPA to get a fuel sending unit as my quit working this spring.
  5. Thank you for the feedback. I like the look on the car in the above photo. I see two different manufacturers of the chrome 15 x7 GT style wheel. Wheel vintiques or Scott Drake. The Drake wheels are more $'s but is there a difference in quality between the two?
  6. I am unhappy with my stock GT wheel setup. They are the original GT wheels that came on the car. As it is a factory GT, I want to keep the GT wheel look. I am going with the 15x7 GT wheels and I think BFG radial T/A's in 225/60r15 all the way around based off all the posts I reviewed on this site. I would like to see are photos of that setup on your cars. Particularly from the side and back. My suspension is fairly stock except for grab-a-track 1 inch lowering springs on the front. Also I plan on putting a better brake setup on the car at a later date and realize the 15 inch wheels will limit my setup options a little. What brake setup are you guys running withe 15 inch wheels?
  7. I think my spring perches are the culprit. It also appears the springs are catching on the bolt on outer shock tower covers. Those are reproductions and don't seem to fit well.
  8. Who has the grab a trak mustang suspension kit from Mustangs plus? I am looking to improve the suspension on my Mustang but don't want to spend thousands of dollars for a coil over system. I'm looking at the grab a trak system and wondering how that's any different from the stock set up? My current suspension was a stock kit from NPD. It creaks and pops all the time. Sounds terrible so it has to go. I don't want to spend more than $1,000. Any suggestions?
  9. It is an h code car but now FiTech efi installed because carbs suck. Can be easily converted back to carb if someone wants to do that. If I sell the car new photos will be taken none on the flat bed. It was being brought back from being in storage.
  10. The Marti report shows they made 1,127 GT convertibles. I don't have the high end marti report but I am sure there were only a few. It was originally royal maroon with black interior but I was not a big fan of that color combo so I changed it. In my mind I was thinking of asking 35-40k but was not sure. Have to find out what I want next.
  11. Looking to sell my 69 Mustang GT convertible. It is a real nice car. Acapulco blue with white deluxe interior and top. 351w, FMX trans. The car has FiTech fuel injection. It is a solid #2 condition car. Not sure on the value. I see Mach ones in similar condition selling in the high 20's to low 30's. Not sure how the GT value compares. Also looking to sell my 07 Mustang GT convertible. It is white with black graphics and leather interior. Only has 13,000 miles on it. Will be putting that on eBay sometime this week. Looking to sell both to get my wife a newer GT convertible in black and buy something different for me.
  12. I will call and talk to Shaun at street or track. My budget of roughly $2500 was only for the suspension. The power rack is for 2018 and will have a similar budget.
  13. Time for my 2017 project on my 69 GT convertible. Last year I added FiTech efi and love it. This year I am going to put new front suspension on the car. I will add rack and pinion steering in 2018. I drive the car on weekends and occasionally to work. I am looking at maybe doing a coil over suspension system but am not sure if that is the way to go. Maybe that is too much for my application? What are other folks using and how do you like it? I am not wanting you spend more than $2500.
  14. Thanks for the info. Midlife, it was one of yours. It is going to a new home in a Shelby convertible clone.
  15. I have an under dash wire harness that was redone and converted to tach/ac. I don't need it and I have someone interested in buying it. The problem is that I don't have a clue what it is worth? I want to be fair on the price. Any ideas what it is worth?
  16. No real issues. I had a guy I know install it. He is a mechanic by trade and it went smooth. He did it quicker than I could.
  17. Going with just the chrome and leaving the GT stripe off the car.
  18. Lower right corner of the photo is down. The left side is the back of the headlight bucket. Car runs great with the efi. Engine runs way better than it did before. Really made it come alive. It was a little hard to get used to at first because the gas pedal is really stiff. I am doing much better with it now after many unintentional tire squeals when leaving stop lights. Many intentional ones as well. The best part of the EFI is that my wife has stopped complaining about gas and exhaust smell.
  19. Yes. Just like the Mach one moldings.
  20. I have a GT convertible in Acapulco blue with a white top and interior and I have not put the GT stripe on the car yet because the car has the exterior decor package which gives the car the thin stainless rocker molding and I don't know about having both the stripe and the thin rocker molding. For now neither are installed. What do you guys think?
  21. I finally got the efi installed in my 69 convertible. I used the FiTech system and so far I love it. Well worth the money. I went with the fuel command center over buying an efi fuel tank and the in-line fuel pump. The fit was too tight in the engine compartment so the fuel command center was mounted in the fender well towards the back of the headlight bucket. I have a 351w with p/s and a/c so that is why there was not enough space. I am working on making a shield to protect the command center from anything that the tire may throw at it. The return line was tapped into the fuel filler neck.
  22. Ray1970 I am going to route it the way you did. If I have issues I can always run it back to the tank later.
  23. So my FiTech Go EFI arrived today. Well at least the fuel command center did. Still waiting on the actual EFI unit. My question relates to the vent line from the fuel command center back to the tank. It states the fuel tank needs to be vented and a vent return line needs to be installed back to the tank. What have you seen done to run a return line back to a stock style tank. Also is the stock tank considered vented? I can't imagine that pressure would build up in the stock style tank. I would think the stock style pop open gas cap would not seal that well and pressure build up would not be an issue.
  24. I had the same issue last summer. I replaced everything that has been listed in all the above posts and the problem continued. Mine turned out to be the ignition switch wires. I put in a new ignition switch pigtail on my wire harness and it solved the problem. Not sure if yours is the same issue but worth a shot. The old wires in my case would heat up after the car ran a while and would start to cut out and then shut down. After a brief cooling period the car would fire right up. Upon inspection of the wires they were very hot and the wire insulation was very hard and developed cracks and some bare spots.
  25. Thank you. I don't think I am going with the fuel command center. It would drive me crazy being packed in there that tight.
