  1. Here are some photos. Finally brought the car home from the paint shop. Everything is just bolted on for transport.
  2. I am looking for an FMX transmission that is complete with bell housing. I need it to be within driving distance of Indianapolis. This is for my 69 GT Convertible with a 351W. The transmission that was in the car is incorrect.
  3. I am a Mortgage Originator and right now this type of loan is very tough. I did not see what the value of the home is but you may run into trouble getting this financed. What you have is a "Non-Arms Length" transaction meaning you are related to the "seller". They are going to be very tough on this loan and require that you put down a good sized down payment (20%) or get a gift of equity from your sister (20% or more) if there is that much equity in the property. They are then going to look at your sister's pay history on that home and see if they think that you are trying to purchase it to avoid her being foreclosed upon. If she has any late pays in the last 6 -12 months they are not going to like it. Your interest rate will be much higher than rates being advertised for "Owner occupied" properties. Expect up to 6.5% -7% fixed with points being paid. Still a lot cheaper than 11%. Lot's of lenders won't do Non-Owner occupied properties at all right now. Your local bank might be the best place to try and do this loan as opposed to a national mortgage lender. Sometimes they have loans that they don't sell to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac and can write their own rules. That way you may not run into as many problems and maybe get a better interest rate. Another avenue is to see if you can get an FHA loan with your mom as the borrower and you as a co-signer? That way it is "Owner occupied" and FHA is the way to go right now with only 3.5% required for a down payment. Good luck with what ever you decide to do. If you want to send me a PM with any scenarios that you run into I would be glad to give you some help. FYI - I love the grande' That is a good looking car.
  4. WTB - 1969 Mustang drivers seat frame. standard/deluxe low back. Looking for one within driving distance of Indianapolis. Frame must be in good shape. Don't care about upholstery or hardware.
  5. Thanks to everyone for the advice. I am going to store the car and see where the ecomomy is in the spring. :001_unsure: It is my dream car and I fear that if I sell it and then things get better I will be looking to buy another one anyhow. This one has been done exactly the way I want it and it won't cost much to store it for 6 months or so. At least I don't owe anyone or anything on the car. The only problem is now I have found a really good deal on a 79 Pace Car and I really hate to pass it up. I know I know it is a 79 Pace car and I am in the minority but I love that car! I live within 20 minutes of the track and go to the 500 every year and would love to have it to drive to the race etc... Oh well I am passing on it... Again thank you to everyone on the great advice. I really appreciate the help.
  6. I did not put it in the for sale section just yet. I am really trying to figure out what to do with it. I really do not want to get rid of it but I am not sure what is going on with the economy and my profession has been hit hard. I think I may have had too much wine this evening as I am looking at selling the 69 and buying a 79 Pace Car and paying off everything I owe other than the house. I have loved the 79 pace car since I got hit by one while riding my bike in 79. Actually I ran into the passenger door as it was going by. If the damn thing had more HP it would have cleared before I came through the intersection. The thought of selling the car started with my $10,000 + Tax bill to the IRS last week and $2400 to the state of Indiana after paying estimated taxes all year. I worked my butt off last year to make more money and ended up netting less money due to taxes. So I used my remaining Mustang money. I don't mind doing my part but Damn! I am trying to wait to officially put it up for sale until I am not so pissed off.
  7. I am thinking about selling my 69 GT Convertible. It is in mid restoration and I am either going to have to put it in storage or sell it. I fear that I won't get out of it what I need at this point to make selling it an option. The car is in fantastic shape. It is well optioned and is a true GT. Options: GT equipment group, A/C, FMX, trac-lok, clock, visibility group, pdb-front, PS, AM/FM (missing), interior decor group, tinted glass and front bumper guards. Originally Royal Maroon with black top and interior. The car has had a complete tear down and body work. It had acapulco blue paint applied several months ago. The paint and body work is awsome on this car. Engine is rebuilt and ready to go in. Things that are needed: FMX transmission, Drivers seat frame since the current one is bent, upholstery, carpet, dash pad and interior door panels. Assembly and a little TLC. A local mustang restoration shop quoted me 10K max to finish the car. I feel the car would be worth 40K + or so when complete. Open to realistic offers. This maybe the only time this car is for sale. Once it goes into storage it will sit until I can finish it.
  8. Colored keyed mirrors were an option on the GT. I ran across a bunch of GT's in the search for my car that had the chrome mirrors. I found that most of those were coupes and convertibles. The fastbacks I found seemed to have the color keyed mirrors. I would love to see the numbers on GT's in each body style that came with chrome mirrors versus the color keyed mirrors.
  9. It is not unthinkable to put a black out hood on a non-mach car because the black out hood in 69 is not specific to the Mach One. GT's could have the black out hood as an option with the GT stripes between the tires along the bottom of the door. I have several Marti reports showing this to be true. Look on your data tag to see if the 5 is present after your color code. If it is then you had a factory black out hood. The black out hood will look good on your car if you are going with black GT stripes. If you go with another color GT stripe then you maybe getting too many colors on the body of the car. My car is a GT Convertible in Acapulco blue and I debated about the black out hood. Since my interior, top and GT stripes are white I decided against the black out hood on my car.
  10. Pakrat, Thanks for the link. I am almost afraid to follow it. I will make sure the kids are not around!
  11. It is Acapulco blue. I did a color change on the car. It was a Royal Maroon car from the factory. The person doing my car restored a 70 Cougar XR7 convertible (428CJ car with A/C) and painted it that color and I loved it.
  12. Any contact info for this place? Website, phone?

  16. Finally some movement on the car. It has been painted now. Here are some of the parts. More photos to follow. I did not get a shot of the body as it was in the paint booth still. I will add those next week.

  21. 31st annual Shelby Spring Fling in Nashville, Indiana. May 16-18th. It is about 40 minutes south of Indianapolis in the Brown County State park. I have been to this show a number of times and it is a great show. Friday is the pony trail and welcoming event and Saturday is the actual car show. Sunday is the Road Rallye. Saturday is the day to go. You can even drive north and take in the events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and make a weekend of it. See some cool Shelbys and watch some real race cars in action.. I am not sure it gets much better than that. Well it does but this is a family site... http://www.indianasaac.com/home.htm - shelby show link http://www.indycar.com/ - Indy Car link
  22. I say if you are doing this car for you and are going to keep the car I would go with the color you want. I have a 69 GT convertible and I wrestled with that question on my car. I use to be of the other school of thought and would go with the original color on the car good, bad or indifferent. I even restored a 66 GT and painted it the original Sierra Beige. I gambled on the color and loved the car just the same as if it were a factory black or red car. However on my current car I went with Acapulco blue instead of the factory color of royal maroon. Although royal maroon is not the worst color Ford offered in 69 I really did not want my car that color. Now that it is done I am happy with the color change and will never question the change. I think silver jade is a great color but then again lots of folks like royal maroon. I do not. It is all about what you want and what makes you happy. After all that is what this hobby is all about.
