Unless you found them, moved them, then forgot where you put them...then they wouldn't be in the last place you looked, they would be in the new place you put them.

Welcome and good luck.  This is why I have been focused on my body and paint now and my new engine block is sitting untouched.  Leery of building something that could sit too long.

Here is the final product.. the top pannels are held on with magnets, so I can easily reconfigure it.

For some reason most guys today will use gas shocks, but these cars were designed for hydraulic shocks- watch this video to understand the difference. I would watch the entire thing to understand the relationship of springs and shocks and how shocks can change the spring rate, but in particular he mentions shocks at 5:30 and again at 18:00

I had to share this. I was watching a video about NASA making solid state batteries for air taxies, and other vehicles... like flying cars. The rendering looks a lot like a 69. I wonder if this is Marty McFly's new ride?

FYI no one here or on VMF responded that they had bought an Ididit tilt column for the Ford steering wheel. It had 66 views on VMF, so apparently not too many people have bought it. I decided to get the OEM part while it was still available, and it should be delivered in about a week.

The original Ididit columns were only designed to fit GM steering wheels, but now are made to fit our Fords. The slip ring assembly for the horns didn't line-up.
I don't know when these became available, but it was news to me, so this is like a public service announcement ;)
I only checked for the 69, but the things to look for:
The top of the column is a close match, the original was 3.965, and the new one is 4.00
It has the the EM flasher switch and turn signal switch
This column will only work with the original factory power assist (or manual), but not Borgeson
The slip ring works, fitting the original steering wheel so the horn will work.
It is collapsible just like the OEM to meet safety regulations.
The whole thing is said to be a direct replacement, giving you a tilt wheel.
The part number for a 69 paintable column is 1300646010 (currently $781)
    The rag joint is 3000053434
I haven't tried this yet but now we have an alternative to finding the unicorn OEM columns

I went with this one: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SDM-PCE106-1007
Height wise it was fine with a stock manifold (351c) and a summit carb.  The adjustment holes were off, and I had to drill new holes on the base plate.  I think it looks good installed.

Bots are hitting the site and causing the issues.  I am working with tech support still to try and fix it.  I thought it was already resolved.  There is another issue with upgrading the forum software I need to take care of but it currently crashes the entire forum so I am unwilling to do so until I have ample time to devote to it.  I am hoping to have the bot issue resolved by the end of the week.
Just a little update for you guys.  Bandwidth upgrade would only be a bandaid and not a full solution, so do not feel obligated to donate any more money.  And thanks for your donations so far that should cover the monthly losses for the remainder of the year.

NPD and all the others sell them. If your car has the holes still, I'd put them in to keep the dirt out. That's why I'm doing it. If you replaced the panels and the holes aren't there, personally, I wouldn't bother. I don't think any of us are doing the heavy, everyday driving or letting them sit outside where we'd have to worry about the trunk needing to drain. But that's one person's opinion.

Quick note about using powder-coat/painted parts that are relied on for chassis grounding to complete lighting and other electrical circuits.
I had to add a separate ground wire to my parking/turn signal lights that mount to the front bumper.
The bumper is powder-coated, and the parking light housings are painted in black epoxy. My screws are also coated black.
When I tested the lights, one side was very dim.  The other side flickered.
Ground wire fixed the issue so both sides have a consistent level of illumination.

This is probably one of the best $6.29 I ever spent.
It makes putting the headlights bring in a piece of cake. No more needle nose, pliers, and no more breaking off the tab because you’re pulling too hard.

Repeating some of the same here. The booster shouldn't affect the switch, but maybe you got a manual switch for an auto (or vice versa)? The price difference between the two is pretty significant if I remember right. Even though it works, the booster you have will likely fail sooner than later. How soon will likely depend on how much you drive your car. Definitely watch that WCCC video to understand why, or just for all around knowledge. Brakes will still work, so no worries. And if you do decide on a rebuild of one, thumbs up for Booster Dewey.
