I'm a retired engineer who is the original owner of an unmodified 69 Mach1 351w, H code with an FMX. It was a daily driver for many years and now that I'm retired I intend to restore the car of my youth.

  1. Hi Terry hope this message finds you well. I have a question to ask you. In your times of working as an Engineer have u ever needed a quick dirty way to check a tachometer? I know that some older  battery chargers with generate a dirty square wave with 120 hertz but doing the math for a v8 tach it will only drive it to 1200 rpm's. The tach that i need to check has a problem above 2000 so just wondering if u ever tried anything like this before. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave, yes we are doing well. Sorry, but no I don't recall having the need to check a tach, but perhaps this link will span some ideas: https://www.google.com/search?q=output+to+check+a+tachometer&oq=output+to+check+a+tachometer&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i22i29i30.12487j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Yes I have read most everything online I think. Nothing simple short of purchasing a signal generator which I would not mind having anyway but i was trying  to get it resolved today for my son who lives in Charleston and will be headed back tomorrow. Thanks anyway terry and have a nice day.
