unilec got a reaction from bigmal in Holley fuel bowl empty after aweek
I also had trouble starting with fuel drain back after a couple of weeks, so I fitted a holley electric flow through fuel pump near the tank and a switch under the dash. Once the fuel line and carb bowl are full my car starts after a few cranks. It also a back up if your mechanical pump should fail.

unilec got a reaction from Mach1 Driver in Front Frame Rail Measurements
Another useful tool to have is a Tram Gauge. Easy to make one and its good if you are doing a lot of body work to check the diagonals from front to back, before you start welding on frame rails or rockers.

unilec got a reaction from Shep69 in heat creep at idle
The thermostat is there to reduce water flow though your radiator to help get the engine up to temperature quicker, once fully open say about 180 F, it serves no further need. First thing to check would be your timing, but temps of 195 to 205 F are normal. More damage is done to an engine running at to low a temperature.

We have to think of the billions of people world wide that will be out of work because of this ever advancing technology.

unilec got a reaction from lalojamesliz in Best way to prep interior for new paint
Just bare in mind that the interior will mostly be covered with carpet and trim. Basically just clean the area of dirt, oil and paint that is flaky, sand any rust area's and apply a good primer. I hand painter the floor and other parts in my 65 fastback.

unilec got a reaction from ralt962 in Rough or Wont start, backfires through exhaust
Good idea to switch to the pertronix system, just put the old points and condenser in a plastic bag and chuck them in the glovebox, nothing worse than being far from home and you have ignition porblems.

unilec got a reaction from Mach1 Driver in three point seatbelt install
I think this is the way I will be going on my 65FB, no need to cut up the inner sill. Not sure if the 69FB will have the same option, will look at that once I get to restoration stage.

unilec reacted to MAC390 in Stuck in the garage and wating to go
Have not been on for a while but the 428 Mach 1 is running and i have a couple of little issues to fix.
Took out the 4.30 Detroit Locker and put in a highway friendly 3:1 Traction Lock and the car is really driveable now.
I can only polish and detail the cars so many times.
So here they are in the garage just waiting.
