That's awesome, wish I had one at home, trying to bend plate in a vice just isn't the same.

Pity all the pics are gone now, I would have loved to see what you started with, do you have photobucket?

Unbelievably awesome welding skills. I need to get myself a tig welder. Nice to see that you have the headers sitting up high as well, most seem to hang down to low.

Hey Ash, A very good epoxy primer, which is available here in aus. is Intergard 269. This stuff works very well and a lot of guys, including myself use it underneath the car to copy the original red oxide coating. Its used in the marine industry so resists a lot of moisture.

No I didn't have a tube frame to clamp everything too. I do have angle plate welded in the door openings to keep them from moving. Hope I will not be in for any bad surprises later.
That's ok, just take lots of measurements as you go along.

Looks like a lot of good progress so far. Do you have the body clamped to a square tubular frame, these old cars tend to bend out of shape when panels are removed, especially verts.

Thanks mate just replied.

Over here in WA I licenced my car using the original belts . As long as they are in good condition they are acceptable . We don't have to do 12 monthly inspections either.
I will probably do the same thing, unfortunately my originals are not to good, looking at a set on ebay at the moment.

Just to be on the safe side install ADR approved belts and with the dollar at the moment probably cheaper. Hemco or give these guys a try?

Awesome set up.I wish you could get a set up like that, that bends exhaust tube as easy.

In Australia a lot of restorers use Intergard 269, I painted the underside of my 65 with it and it is really hard wearing. Looks darker in the real light.
Cheers, Neil.

Rear bumper looks awesome, so is that fiberglass or a modified steel one?
