CedAbedaPep reacted to RCE1313 in New Radiator Purchase ?
I need some help or advice on purchasing a new radiator and fan/s. I've got a 408w and I plan on running A/C. I've been researching online and have found some good reviews on Griffin radiators. I was curious what other people are running and if there is brands to stay away from or websites with good deals and combos. Any help would be appreciated.

I went to the dragstrip with the Mustang on Sunday. I have experience drag racing but it was the first time with this car, with a big block, with drag radials, and with an automatic. All very different from my previous experience. The car has a mild 429 (385 series), C6 and 4.11 gears. I also have CalTrac's with Viking double adjustable shocks. A friend loaned me some drag radials so I thought I was set. The best run was a 13.55 at 101.2mph. The car weighs 3625 with me in it. Mid 13s is what I expected but I thought it would run closer to 104-106mph. I'm not disappointed in the car, only my calculations if that makes sense. The car was VERY consistent and ran perfect all day as long as I shifted the the stock shifter properly (challenging!!). I put the 4.11s in recently in anticipation of my new engine/overdrive trans going in soon. I couldn't stand them long term with a C6 or 4spd but they were perfect for drag racing. I couldn't cut a decent light to save my life. My previous experience didn't help me much. Oh well. Had a blast just the same.

CedAbedaPep reacted to cwodjoyce in 393 STROKER SET UP
Stroker help. I just got my block back from the shop that built it. 393 stroker, comp cams retro roller 35-425-8 .513(282).526(289). victor jr heads 70 cc using NGK 7373 v power plugs and msd mechanical distributor (factory installed spring set up) 10:1 compression. Holley 750 DP (set up from the factory)
My questions what are you using for initial timing, what plugs and what timing curve on the distributor? I am planning to get it dyno tuned after the brake in but would like to get it set up a little better.
    Thanks in advance!

    69 F code convertible

I have problems with what I suspect is flex in the unibody, lots of shaking, etc. I am sure that this is no surprise to anyone.

I re-did the front suspension (Arning drop, springs, tie rod ends, coil springs..... the whole shootin' match) and this has helped somewhat but I still want to stiffen things up.

I have a new set of Bilsteins coming so I will get those on soon.

I have been thinking about subframe connectors and the two that float to the top for me is the Tinman vs. Maier racing.

Tinman: Less expensive, looks stock when done right.

Maier Racing: More expensive and does not look stock but potentially stiffer due to extra contact with the front subframe.

    Questions/musings:

Does the Maier affect the underneath clearance? I do not want to worry about speedbumps any more than I do now.

I do not plan to have 600 hp in this or race.

My inclination is to go with the Timan.

I also tend to overthink things.

    Thanks for listening.

I've noted that we can't contact members via PM. I wonder if we could/should set up a matching FB group so we can contact each other easier.
