  1. I used K&N on both top and bottom of mine. Not too flashy, but functional, especially if you have a hood scoop. Good luck with your project.
  2. When I'm playin' up in Maine, I have a Polaris xcsp 600 and a SkiDoo formula 500. When there's no snow, we have 2 Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV's. My other trucks are a 1956 F100 (original, unrestored), a 2002 SVT Lightning (for sale), and a 2011 SVT Raptor Supercrew. Life is good!
  3. stangs-R-me, A couple years ago, I restored my 69. When I did, I decided to take out my original 351w and store it in my shed. I replaced it with a Ford Racing 392 stroker. I had the Centerforce DF and had no problems at all. It's still attached to the engine, collecting dust, so if you want to try a used one with less than 1500 miles on it, you can buy it for the cost of shipping. The Summit part # at the time was CTF-DF700000. Time to get rid of the old parts.... let me know if you're interested. Tom
  4. I bought subframe connectors from Total Control Products. I got them about 10 years ago. They are heavy tubular connectors that are powdercoated and very well made. Easy to weld in and they are tucked up and hardly noticeable.
  5. I used Summit Racing's Hush mat insulation. It's a little cheaper than Dynamat. I put it on the inner firewall, front floorboards and over the mufflers in the back. I installed a/c, so I wanted to keep the heat away. It seems to work alot better than the factory insulation.
  6. My daily driver is a 440hp '02 SVT Lightning. It towed my car, camper, and snowmobiles for the last six years with no problems. Great little truck!
  7. There's an article in the Jan'10 issue of Hot Rod magazine about a new coupe to fastback conversion kit. The finished car looks great. Anyone considering this?
  8. I recently took off a set from my car. With the stock Z bar linkage, I had to "modify" the tube closest to the firewall. I had to pound it in about 1/4" for about 3" of the tube. I got my Hedman shortys from Summit Racing back in 2000. Part# HED-88650-6 If you're interested, I'll sell you mine for $50.00. They already clear the linkage. They are ceramic coated, but after 7 yrs. of use, they are a dull silver instead of being bright and shiny. I didn't enjoy beating on my brand new headers, but thats what it took to clear the equalizer bar. I now have a hydraulic clutch and clearance isn't an issue.
  9. Moteaux, I bought the export brace from www.mustangsunlimited.com Most Mustang vendors have them.

  11. Jayru, If you want to stiffen up your car, consider subframe connectors. You'll really feel a difference. I have the one piece export brace that is much stronger than the stock individual shock tower braces.

  21. I've had my 69 Shelby for 23 years and haven't had any explosions yet. www.cobranda has the exhaust parts you will need. If you click on the exhaust collector mounting kit in their online catalog and enlarge, it shows the correct mounting for it. Here's a couple of pictures of mine when i took it apart before the repaint.

Mike, Your proposed setup sounds good to me although I haven't heard much about composite springs.I found an old buisness card from Scott Hackenson. He's the tech support guy at Cobra Automotive. He vintage races early mustangs all over the U.S.,and should be able to answer any of your questions. The email on the card is info@cobraautomotive.com They built this Boss 302 that is a street car, but is set up nicely for track events. I have the spec sheet on this car that I can email you if you want.
