I finally was able to drive mine 20 miles yesterday, love it. I was able to use my stock Ford pump (a Cardone unit I've had a couple years). I didn't wander on the highway like my stock setup did. I turns fine stopped and at idle and low speed.

machm1970 got a reaction from JayEstes in Retrosound installed!
I finished the installation of the Retrosound Hermosa today. So far it looks and sounds good. The installation was a major pain due to it's universal design. They supply L shaped brackets which enable you to move it front/back, up/down and side to side. I probably had it in and out 15 times tweaking adjustments. It's tough to find a happy medium where face looks good front to back and having the shafts sticking forward enough to get the knobs on without them interfering with the factory bezel. I chose the knobs that look closest to original (except the back knobs looks like '71-3 but that's the closest they had). I had to relieve the 3 tabs on the back knobs a little so they wouldn't contact the chrome trim on the factory bezel. The Bluetooth works pretty well, an occasional crackle through the speakers, not sure if it's the radio or my phone. I ran an audio plug under and up into my console so I can plug in my phone or an mp3 player
All and all I'm happy now that it's in, if I had to do it over again I would probably have my original radio sent out to have updated guts installed, it's a little more money, but alot less hassle with installation. I also installed a LED 1895 bulb in the climate control while I had everything apart, much brighter.

I am running my power steering hoses through the drivers side fenderwell to keep them cool.  On my '68 coupe, I have them wrapped in DEI heat sleeving.   I will be posting pictures of the hose outing/bulkhead connectors, etc on my Project site next week....

machm1970 got a reaction from yvonnefu11 in Power steering pump paint
I haven't seen a stamp like that. I did have a local place make an "OK" stamp for me to replicate the stamp on the driver's side valve cover, cost me $10. I would be willing to bet there's a local place that could do that for you too.

I have seen both dark blue metallic or black. You can buy the correct blue metallic from NPD. Beware though, I bought some from CJ's that they listed as correct, when I got it the paint was the lighter teal blue for 66's which is different, the can read "65-73 power steering pump paint." NPD has the correct stuff though.

Custom Autosound has really bad reviews on many different forums. I installed a Retrosound Hermosa over the winter and hid speakers inside the kick panel vents. I've had good luck so far and I'm impressed with the quality.

Those are beautiful on the right car
you said you want the trans am look, that will do it. However you will also need to lower the car a proper amount to make it look right with the wheels and for the trans am look

The stock pedal works fine with the Lokar cable. Spend your money on something more worth while, just my opinion.

Get some modeling clay, make a ball and put it on top of your air cleaner before closing the hood. Pull the hood back up and measure the clay for home much room you have.

Just a discussion point in my view, Spacers are not the best idea. While some may be using them for just crusing around, Heavy track or spirited curves can cause wheel bearing failure. Just look at the stock mounting of a wheel. The center line of the mass is near the center line of the hub . Placing an adapter on it moves the center line of the wheel mass out from the hub center. Basic math shows there will be stress at some time in its use. JMHO.

Thick wheel spacers like that is hard on the bearings. Try not to use them, get wheels with the correct backspace instead.

I'm pretty sure putting a cheby part on your Mustang is a felony and grounds for immediate arrest.
