  1. Is any one else having trouble open new notifications ? I show 6 but i can click on them all day and they will not open
  2. I did the toe boards this morning ,there was only a couple of holes so it was easy. Well i got the floor in also but Photo bucket will not let me load the pics
  3. I was having trouble posting ,tried to post last night and couldn't do it
  4. it is a 1953 Military compressor /generator .A big 4 cylinder and it puts out 120 PSI .It runs a constant 90 Psi .
  5. the spot welder is a Harbor Freight ,dont waist your time or money on the 115 though ,get the 220 .the 115 will not weld auto body panels .This one will do tail panels ,radiator supports and just about any thing with a flange .I want to get a miller soon as i can afford it ,the problem is you only get one set of tongs and they will not reach over a lot of the panels . the new tongs are the expensive part
  6. The tail light panel is in .The lower window panel is in ,i used my spot welder to weld it in. The outer driver side air box is in. The end caps are bolted in place and so is the trunk lid but it isn't latched so it sets a bit high,If i push down slightly it lines up perfect .The toe board patches will be next ,probably some time next week .
  7. I got it blasted ,at least what will be covered up by the new panels .I had a little extra sand so i did the cowl and the door jambs .The holes in the roof did not blow out any more than what they were before blasting so i am going to just patch them.I have a little bit of patch work on the lip of the toe boards on both sides but not a lot .I will start on the tail panel and the rear window lower panel tomorrow ,i should be able to get the outer air box as well .I primmerd inside the fire wall and under the cowl and most of the trunk ,the rest will get blasted when i get it on the rotisserie .
  8. I bought the sand today and the primer .The blaster is filled ,the compressor is gassed up ,the hoses are laid out and ready to go .First thing in the morning i will blast the inside and inside the trunk .Should get it primed inside also .I would like to get the floor in this weekend ,i will have two very small patches in the toe board lip where the floor sets but that will not take long to fix.I think i will blast up inside the roof where the pin holes are and see what happens ,if it doesn't blow a big hole ,cross your fingers ,i will just patch the rotted areas .
  9. Oh! That's a Rare one LOL . You should buy that one ,it's one of a kind . That reminds me ...RARE! there are a lot of rare cars on Craigs List .
  10. I finally found them . They are Ansen Ground Grabbers .Un pinned they were like a regular traction bar ,pinned they were like a ladder bar .These things really hooked up ,especially with a Detroit locker .I have got to find a set for my 69 ,if i can't i will build a set
  11. My old 69 Cj had a set of bars that had two parallel bars at the rear end mounting pads and one bar from the front of the leafs that went between the rear bars ,you could pin the bars for a solid set up of leave the bolt out for normal leaf operation. They really hooked up good but i dont know who made them or what they were called .I thought they were Mr Gasket or Hurst but i haven't been able to find another set any where .
  12. Those 245s look great on the back ,that is what i went with for my 69 Shelby replica ,but with the 69 Shelby wheel.
  13. I like the painted intake as well . I have a Edelbrock F427 i want to use on mine .I have never seen one before and i don't think they make them any more ,anyone ever ran one ?
  14. I took out the dolly that was under my Calypso Coral CJ ,bolted in rear leafs and a 9 inch housing and axles ,bolted on a front end dolly .Now i can roll it out to the sand blaster to blast and prime the interior before welding in the new floor .
  15. I think it says boss v2 or short boss ,haven't look at the back of a scoop in a while but it does say boss something I cant tell you how many times i have gone to look a 69 or 70 that the add says it has a boss 302 only to find it is a regular 302 .The seller will not take you word for it either and will stand by it ,even after you explain the difference .
  16. Yeah ,tape them up that is what i always do . Or you could have a tire come off some idiots car headed right for you that used lug nuts on a universal rim with no washers ,it worked for my moms 69 ...although the mirror was no longer usable ,and neither was the door.
  17. Very well done ! I used a Dynacorn valance on my 69 and had to extend the sides because it was a little bit short ,the quarters were not replaced so that was about the only option .It wasn't hard to do ,i just didn't like the idea of having to do it .
  18. LOL ! Yep drop a couple of wrenches here and there ,a few bolts on the floor and a air hose tangled in an extension cord couldn't hurt .
  19. You will need the spacer plate for the bell housing you are going to use .
  20. +1 Grabber yellow .With all the black outs it looks great .I miss my old yeller car.
  21. I usually dont take mine apart ,i use my lift to remove the car and almost always have another one to go right back on it .it takes about 20 minutes to bolt it up on the lift . That shop is just a bit to clean ...need to dirty it up a bit .
  22. I have been thinking about using two air bumper jacks to build a rotisserie ,i priced them once at around 300 each.all you would need is some larger castors ,a couple of connector bars and build the rotating heads .For around $1,000 you could build a killer rotisserie .These jacks go all the way to the ground and lift around 4 feet high.
  23. I build mine from 3/16 wall hitch and receiver tube. They just slide together and pin .When i am not using it i can fold it up and store it in the breeze way behind my shop. I have hauled mine on a car trailer with a car on it .I have even picked it up with a fork lift with a car on it .I went double bar connectors because i roll it out to the sand blaster on some pretty un even ground .
