  1. Hey, don't you have a roof to fix....again!
  2. You can check ebay for a used one.
  3. Here's one method for lubing the cable. Cover the drivers carpet with newspaper or something. Remove the cable from the speedo. It is easier if the front seat is out. Grab the inner cable with pliers and pull moderately hard on it. If it does not come out you may need to pull the assembly out of the trans first so the cable is less bent. Grease the entire cable with any type of grease. You can also try to squirt oil down into the housing for extra lubrication. Reinstall the cable and pray the noise goes away.
  4. yes if the roller tip is not near the edge of the valve tip and the push rod does not hit the head.
  5. One off a 1970 mustang with a 351 cleveland may work if you shorten the rad end of the hose a bit.
  6. there is no need to run a different water neck with ac.
  7. These can contribute to a "wandering" and "bump steer" feel, especially if they are flat across the face with very little curve/crown.
  8. Yes, you're right, and right is wrong because left is right, right?
  9. And just in case you haven't noticed, your steering wheel is on the wrong side!
  10. That makes zero sense, it has nothing to do with his machine.
  11. Wow, don't ever go back to the first guy cuz the specs can be found in 10 seconds by just doing a Google search.
  12. They should have them, so simply call them and ask them if they do and what they are.
  13. Aligning a Mustang to Fords stock specs will not cause a significant bad driving feel. For an alignment alone to cause a car to steer so badly it feels dangerous, it would have to be a mile off, with typically the toe in being way to far in or toed out. Is it worse now than it was before the shelby drop? Is it worse now than it was before the alignment? What size tires do you have? Is there any play in the steering wheel? Are the tie rod ends good? Exactly what is the problem?
  14. What brand are they? I have had a bazillion gabriel hi jackers and never had a single problem. Are you tightening them very much or just finger tight? Put a small squirt of liquid dish washing soap in around 8 ounces of water in a spray bottle and spray it at the fittings to determine which ones are leaking.
  15. ok, summit wants $50.00 plus shipping. Amazon is $42.00 with free shipping. Rock Auto may also have it for even less. I suggest you throw that plastic pos float away and put an original style brass one on it if you plan to keep the car.
  16. You can not "dye" vinyl. You can only spray it with "vinyl paint", which will quickly wear off in areas where you rub it, plus it can crack and lift etc. Works decent on a car one wants to sell quickly but it is not a great option on a "keeper". It is possible to have the door panels recovered by a good upholster, but you may see flaws when this is done as well.
  17. Don't forget to make sure you have the proper clearance between the booster rod and master cylinder. This is a critical clearance that few people think of checking.
  18. That is definitely not always the case.
  19. I don't need to explain anything further regarding panel alignment, and your simple deduction is still a simple assumption, it's really that simple. Obviously the upper rear part of the door "may" be "hard against the body", but again, one would have to be there to inspect it to be certain, unless the op removes the door rubber completely and tries it. I have been doing this for 45 years and have won 1st place at MCA judged shows with cars i restored and have sold some I restored for world record prices at the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. I also worked on some cars for Steve Davis at his request whom has been the president of Barrett Jackson for decades now, so it would appear that I know how to align body panels well enough, but thank you for your attempt to explain to me how it works.
  20. Nobody can tell for certain if his door is "bending into shape" when he closes it unless they are there to check it in person. Therefore, your comment is a guess, and not necessarily what is actually happening.
  21. Glad you were able to get it much closer using the various adjustments. As I mentioned, twisting is the LAST resort, not the first one.
