  1. Watching your video maxum96 definitely makes me want that tremec and since I'm still saving for this project I have awhile before I need to make my decision. It looks as though swapping in that tremec may run as much as 2k more than an AOD swap so it will take that much longer to save up for it but I'm sure it will be worth it if thats the path I choose. Thanks for your input.

  2. I am just starting my research on this tranny issue and don't have all the info on my options completely figured out yet. I am under the impression that the line up of trannies from PATC (the dominator jr, AODominator, and interceptor) are all 4R70W trannies, I don't want to put in a stock AODE or 4R70W. It's worth the extra cost to put in a tranny that will stand up to the abuse that may come its way. TCI also offers up an AOD that would work, PATC just offers a complete kit that would make the install easy. StephenC or anyone else, any info on this subject you can send my way would be greatly appreciated, thanks

  3. Has anyone put the rear end out of a 70's lincoln versailes into a 69 stang for the purpose of the disc brakes. Was it a direct bolt in, I've heard they're the same rear end. Any comments an that, pros and cons. What other cars had the same rear end w/disc brakes? Seems like that might be a cheaper way to get rear disc brakes.

  4. I just did this same thing last weekend. The front of the hinge needed to come up alittle while the back stayed all the way down. The elongated holes only allow the hinge to travel straight up and down. In order to do this I took a small grinding wheel on my dremel tool and lengthened the rear hole towards the top about 1/16" and widened the top front hole towards the front enough to rotate it backwards. Also cleaned up the bottom hole alittle. I hung the front and drivers side of the hood from the garage ceiling w/tiedowns and left the other side bolted to the hinge so it hung there when I took the hinge off. That way you don't need to remove the hood. Alittle trial and error and now the hood fits better than it ever did. Hope that makes some since.

  5. Just installed a pertronix ignitor but not one of there coils on a 351, the engine starts but misses badly. So I did there test with a jumper wire and according to there instructions I have a low voltage problem. There solution to this says without a ballast resister you must connect the red ignitor wire to a 12 volt source that is controlled by the ignition switch. Thats all it says about fixing the problem. Does'nt say whats causing the problem, just goes on talking about your coils resistance. Will installing one of there flame thrower coils solve the low voltage problem? And does installing this unit change your timing to the point of needing to retime the engine?

  6. Thanks for the pic, that will help me. The third line loops from the top around and connects at the bottom just as in your first pic. This is still all original stuff on my car. That line on my car has a valve of some sort in it, and in your first pic that line has nothing in it. Is that the propotioning valve or maybe a metering valve? That new pressure valve does away with that loop. If I knew how to use this computer better I'd post a pic mine, but I can't and the kids are'nt home. It's exactly like your first pic minus the valve in the line that loops from top to bottom. I sure thank you for your help.

  7. I also am doing my brakes right now and also need the proportioning valve. I was thinking that one from NPD 2B091-20AA would work, but wasn't sure because that one has 2 lines out of the top and mine has three. Was it easy to figure out which line went where on the new one and did you just bend your old lines to fit or bend new ones? That one also looks like it has the right plug for the wire.

  8. Replaced the booster not the column, and already have a randalls rack. It works great. As far as the mas cyl goes, this has been frustrating. Was trying to get away with only enough brake work to get by till I have enough money saved to do an upgrade. It's not working. Really just need to do a complete brake job. Two jobs I prefer to farm out to others, exhaust and BRAKES.
