Hey Mike, maybe we could get exclusivity by state. LOL
-
Can't wait for my hood to arrive, so I can join MikeStang in the elite Ridge Runner hand-crafted Shelby hood club!
-
My son and I have been following the progress of this hood. He likes the hood, except for the look of the center vent - he thinks it needs a scoop. Well, I just came across this car that has both, so I may have him convinced.
-
It will be more if they pick it up and/or deliver to a residential address, so if you can take it to a business for pick up, that helps. Since it's only 52lbs, you don't need a dock or lift gate. You definitely want to check the liability limits when choosing a carrier. For instance, in the quotes above, Con-way's liability limit is $25 per pound, which would be $1300, while Old Dominion only insure $5 per pound.
-
Ridge, I did a freight quote through UShip.com, shipping from your zip code to me (Houston, TX). $150-160.
-
Hey Ridge, what's your zip code?
-
Wow, that's crazy! As I've been looking at hoods (new and used), most freight quotes have been $150-200.

Hey, I finally found the link to a car with a similar kind of hood. I have been searching for a source for this hood for months, without any success. Most likely it was custom made, or perhaps cut from a Shelby hood? Anyway, looks very similar to what you're building Ridge Runner. Keep up the good work!! http://www.vehiclesbyseller.net/1969-Ford-Mustang-Convertible-Nebraska-68127/5273529

First, thanks to Randy at Midlife for a quick response to my email! Here's the connector setup: On the outside curve starting at one end: Yellow White/red Green/red Orange/blue Blue On the inside curve starting at the same end: Blue/yellow White/blue Green/white Green Empty Also, the turn signal switch I ordered from NPD had the correct number of wires (9).
-
The image the original post references is no longer there. Does anyone have a diagram of the steering column turn signal connector, or a pin by pin color list? I have my old one, but the colors are pretty faded, and I just want to make sure I have it right.

Hey, maybe we'll get some honey out of the deal!
-
MikeStang and I are on the way with flamethrowers. That should take care of them!
-
Wow, what a mess. So sorry this is happening. Praying for a good outcome.

The motor mounts seem to be in good shape. The motor was replaced by the PO a few years ago with a 1980's 302. I tried moving the shroud down, but there is a lip on the bottom of the radiator that prevents that. I may just have to shave a little off the bottom of the shroud.
-
The PO of my 69 coupe installed a 20" aluminum radiator with an electric fan (which sounds like a jet engine). I am in the process of changing the fan set up to a clutch fan, however, the new fan is hitting the bottom of the existing shroud. So, I'm trying to decide what to do. I'm not sure if I can find a shroud with a larger opening for that size radiator. I've always thought the radiator looked weird with the gaps on either side of the radiator support. Would the car have had a 24" radiator originally? It's a base coupe with a 302 engine/C4 automatic. I'm not so concerned about originality as I am about functionality.

A few months ago, I installed my new export brace prior to having shock tower bracing plates welded on. I wanted to make sure it would fit before stiffening up the towers. After the welding was complete I removed the export brace as I continued to work in the engine compartment. Now, I'm at the point where I'm ready to take the car off stands and put her back on her own feet. I planned to leave the export brace off while it goes to the body shop, because I want the shop to paint the front of the cowl and top of the pinch weld. However, should I be concerned about not having the brace installed with the full weight of the car and power train on the suspension?

I'm starting to feel really shaky. I don't think I can take it anymore!! No hood updates for an entire day!
-
That looks awesome!! I think you mentioned this in a earlier post, but just to confirm, the idea would be that the scoop openings would have screens?
-
Wow, it's really coming together nicely! I was hoping we'd have an update today.

Not a 69 but the 2016 Shelby gt350R is really cool

Does it come in black? -
I'm second in line behind MikeStang, so just in case you hit the snooze button, wake up and get to work! :-D
-
That looks awesome! I'd be interested in one as well. I've been looking for something like this.
-
Do you still have this mirror?

I've been searching for something like a Shelby hood that would fit on a couple (like the Shelby De Mexico hoods) without any luck. I did come across this one tonight from Andy's Auto Sport. Anyone have any experience with these? http://www.andysautosport.com/products/anvil__010637.html#Product Details
