  1. Would I still be able to use the rectangular antenna base with a universal power antenna, since my fender has holes for that?
  2. Check out this topic: http://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/53232-lets-make-a-fiberglass-hood/ At least 2 of us have purchased this hood from Ridgerunner. It's solid as a rock and looks like a work of art!
  3. I'm looking for options for black wiper arms and a black antenna. I thought I saw on a forum at one time where black wiper arms from a newer car would fit on on 69, but I don't remember the specifics. Also, I wish I had had the antenna hole filed in when I had the car painted, but didn't think about it then. Any ideas on a solution in black, that might be less conspicuous than the stock antenna?
  4. Ridge, what do you recommend we use to attach the screens?
  5. Ok, I went ahead and installed the instrument panel and primed the oil pump. Oil pressure gauge even showed pressure as I was running the drill. So, here's the next potentially dumb question. I've replaced the gas tank and fuel lines since the engine last ran a year ago. Is there anything I need to do to get fuel to the carb the first time, besides the fuel pump (mechanical) eventually getting it there? I cranked on it for awhile, but the fuel filter is still dry as a bone.
  6. It's not a new engine, but it hasn't ran in about a year. Given that time period, should I go ahead and prime the oil pump? I've replaced the gas lines and tank, so old gas won't be an issue.
  7. At the risk of the mods moving this to the category of dumb questions, I'm going to ask anyway. I'm getting my coupe put back together, and have all the engine components and wiring back on. Under dash harness is in, along with the lower dash. I haven't reinstalled the instrument panel yet, however. Would there be any issue starting the engine with the instrument panel out? I'm at the point where I'd like to do that, before continuing to reassemble the car.
  8. Thanks for all the input! I do love this forum; it has been an invaluable resource. It was a non-A/C car, so that's most likely the issue.
  9. I'm in the process of reinstalling my dash after installing the Vintage Air Gen IV unit. When I got to the glove compartment, behold, I discovered that it will not close before it bumps the evaporator unit. Anyone else experience this? Besides leaving the glove compartment box off or removing the A/C unit, any suggestions on a solution?
  10. +1 on Mike's question Also, somewhat related, when attaching my hood scoop, should i use any kind of gasket or sealer between the scoop and the hood?
  11. I'm blacking out the trim on our coupe, mostly with Plasti-dip at this point, however, any suggestions on how to black out the exterior door handles and locks? There's too much contact from hands and keys for Plasti-dip. Not sure how well paint would hold up either. Short of eliminating them all together, any other suggestions? Does anyone make black versions?
  12. What kind of shape are the two grille opening moldings? One of mine is pretty beat up.
  13. If you're using a phone or tablet, an easy way is to use the Photobucket app to upload your photos, then grab the link from there. Click on the share link from within Photobucket: Choose "Copy" from the menu that pops up: Click on the link next to IMG to copy the link: Paste the link into your post.
  14. Good idea, Ridge! Now, here's a question my son asked. "What happens when it rains with those open vents?" I hadn't thought about how wet the engine compartment might get if it's sitting in the rain, especially through the rear vents. Should we be concerned about that?
  15. Well, I finally got up the nerve to drill holes in my brand new hood for the scoop. Turned out well, I think!
  16. While my coupe is at he body shop, I am trying to keep busy getting parts ready to go back on the car when it returns. I have the lower dash cleaned up and painted, as well as a newly refurbished harness from Midlife. Does it make any sense to start installing the harness on the lower dash before putting it back in the car?
  17. Good news! My hood didn't gain any weight during its trip to Texas. Just got the final invoice: Invoice received from Con-way Freight uShip has received the final carrier invoice for the shipment by Con-way Freight. Original Quote Amount $162.02 Invoice Amount $162.25 Balance Due $0.00
  18. I think they drowned in all the flooding we've had. Did I mention that it came by boat?
  19. No, I don't think so. Felt lighter than 68lbs actually. Maybe it lost weight. Ha! Unless I get a surprise from uship, everything went smoothly with freight.
  20. The hood arrived today! Ridge, this thing is a work of art!! I can't just help staring at it in awe. I do have a couple of question. I noticed that part of the underside still has more of a "raw" fiberglass look. Do you typically paint that as well? Or maybe apply some sort of insulation? (I have no experience with fiberglass hoods). Am I ok using my stock hinges, or should I use lighter springs?
  21. Talked to Con-Way yesterday, and we should good to go for Monday delivery. I've got my chainsaw ready to open the box. LOL!
