Wow dude, that's awesome!!! Makes me regret selling my Mach, but, I'm sure that would fit in my new 74 F100 shortbed project, and I'd be able to do it with a smaller hood scoop haha.

Hahahaha, RPM, your sense of humor is one thing I'll miss the most.

I've had a 66, 67,68 and 69 mustang in my life from the day I turned 16 (37 years ago lol). I was gifted the 66, then bought a 68, and traded the 66 for a 72 F250 with a 360. Pulled the 360 and dropped in a TP 427, I still miss that truck to this day, and should never had let it go (especially the engine).
 
I haven't decided for sure where I'm going with the 74 F100 shortbed, first thoughts are still drop it with a stout Windsor. But I have toy'ed with the pre-runner idea as well, we shall see.

He was asking about the stall of the converter, by the looks of it you got the Hughes from Summit, so 2200-2500?

Or you can just convert to manual disc's as I'm doing.

One more thought, it's possible at some point someone put hvy advance springs in, or limited the mechanical advance to keep it from pinging (detonation).
 
Edit; Is this a "stock" 351w 4v?

I'm in the process of this as well, radiator support and both front aprons. Get yourself a good spot weld cutter, I've used this one https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/spot_weld_cutter_hardened_by_blair-106724-0.html and it works quite well, just have too be careful not to cut past the panel you're removing.
I haven't removed the front crossmember yet but a couple members here have, I'm sure they will chime in. Do you have a Mig welder yet? Have any welding experience?

I have located twelve 1969 Mach 1's in my area now. They are all different colors except for 3 that are red(2 of those being 390's). My car could be the only black one in the bunch and there is only one other 428cj (in white). I never realized there were that many around. I plan to get them all together for a photo shoot and cruise night.

+1 on what's been said on the switch and the feed wires. Also check the chassis grounds, clean them well, bare metal no paint.

So having sat for so long 1st thing I'd do is a major tune-up. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and points if so equipped. What carb? Has it been rebuilt since it's been stored? Running lean can be another cause of running hot.
