That is too funny!! Did they send you a letter too requesting photos?I hate phoney people. LOL.  Oh well.  Looking a little closer, I noticed the rimblow switch is wavy in the channel. I wonder if it just the cheapest thing around. I may consider putting my original back in or I have a new OEM ford switch in the tube.

As for the circuit board....I went with the one CJPP has. If it doesnt work out, I will consider having Midlife make a custom harness.

Going wth Red. Hoping Marti Auto would start producing their stripes again. Supposed to be correct and as close to original as possible. Not sure of any other vendors that produce the stripe with the gold overlaid on top.

So... Aquarius is her name....smok'in tires is her game!

Starting to make some progress so the project progress begins. She is a rough but solid and rustfree, She came to me with 3,100 original miles and came very complete and original. She is an original triple black Mach 1, 428CJ coupled with a close ratio 4 spd. I am leaning toward Gulfstream Aqua though, especially since she gets hot without AC and after reading an article about how the ford designers never intended the 69 Mach 1 to be black (hence the reason black was a special ordered color), Their vision was to have the black accents highlighted by bright colors.

Raven R code got a reaction from SextKecy in Paint-sheen-color.....what did you have good luck with?
First....not doing concours or a trailer queen....but I'm looking to do it right. So....engine compartment....anyone use Eastwood 's 2K ceramic chassis black? If so, does it have the correct sheen to it? Also, considering doing the master cylinder and bendix power booster in Eastwood 2K ceramic semi black (I believe it to be close to original.

If Eastwood doesn't match original.....is there a 2K paint that does?

Also, what paint do people consider to be a close match for phosphate parts?

    Thanks!

Is that accepted as an original finish? Already have epoxy primer on.

I've been having good luck with Dupli-Color DE 1634 Low Gloss Black for the engine bay, its an Enamel/Ceramic paint and is also great to use as a touch up.
The paint blends in real nice, withstands heat up to 500* and resistant to oil and fluids.

Wanna trade?? Lol. I'm trying to talk myself into the black. Everyone(my friends and family) knows I hate black cars and would never buy a black car.......and I have probably one of the best muscle cars ever.....and its black. So it's been tough ever since I pulled the marti report on it. Ugghh!! Sad thing is Gulfstream Aqua has been my favorite color on this car since I first saw one like it.....and I always thought it was the original color (for 29 yrs) because it was the only stock color on the underside of my side view mirror.

Raven R code got a reaction from SweellTrex in ~ 1969 Building the mighty 428CJ : Tips and Tricks
About to start assembling my motor. I have read the FE bible from Barry....so these tips are in addition. Had upgrades to the oil system done which includes the chamfering of the openings in the mains and enlarging the passage by the filter mount. A few things I am doing that I didn't do before include....not priming the lifters. Do not prime lifter because you will not be able to effectively measure push rod lengths. The other thing is to prime the motor by getting the oil pump up to speed on the engine stand. This will allow to check for leaks before installing the motor. One last tip....use pipe dope or other good sealant to seal the lower right water pump bolt. It is the only one out of the 4 mounts to open up into the water jacket. This one caused me much grief when my motor was freshly painted and leaked coolest everywhere.

So , please feel free to share any building tips or tricks related to the FE block. I will add more as they come.
