  1. does anyone know if there is an online resource that may have statistics on things like a breakdown of drive trains for classic mustangs? I know my Marti report says there are 1,559 cars with my paint/trim code.....curious what the breakdown is by engine.
  2. In 1988 I sort of bought a 69 Q code car. I bought a complete stash of parts which included everything but the totaled unibody chassis. If it could be unbolted, it was. The car was totaled in 1973 with 38,000 miles on it. So....I do have plenty of parts that came off of it. The drive train is NOT for sale so please don't ask, but if you need something else, feel free to run it by me. I no longer have the seats, fenders, trunk lid. I do have the non ram air hood, all wire harnesses, door glass, rear window, 428 smog tubes and pump, auto shifter and bezel just to name a few. Everything has been in storage since 1988.
  3. That does look sweet!! But.... latoracing brought up a good point about the ride suffering. Maybe a big block needs the sidewall cushioning because of the weight? Sounds like maybe 16" would be the best of both worlds. I would also keep all 4 wheels the same size so I can rotate them.
  4. Good to know!! That would be an important factor.
  5. Great info! Thanks Was thinking that the cougar windows switches would look at home on a stang door panel. I'm guessing they would work and provide an accurate look.
  6. Hi All, I know 69 stangs did not come with power windows, however, it would seem like a nice feature to have. Has anyone ever heard of anyone attempting to install cougar or lincoln power windows in a stang? Seems like cougar components would be the best choice in this attempt. I know I would have to sacrifice my new deluxe door panels in some way. :sailor:
  7. I'm looking to replace the dash wiring along with the engine compartment harness. Trying to get rid of the ghost in the machine. Can anyone verify the quality of any if the aftermarket harnesses like painless or alloy metal products? Thanks!
  8. I hear you about the car being black. I really think gulfstream aqua(what it is now) or Acapulco blue offsets the black accents nicely. Unfortunately, I am on track to restore to original once and for all....mostly being pushed by the results of my Marti report.
  9. Thanks for all the help. I am satisfied that red is the correct color. Now... does anyone know if all 3M reflective stripe kits are the same? Or are some better than others? Thanks!
  10. I knew a guy with a 69 mach 1 that was original "white" interior. The door panels and seats were the only parts colored white....headliner,visors,dash,carpet and quarter pillar panels were all black. I also heard ford would run out of certain colors and mix and match.
  11. Great info! That is what I needed to know. And yes, the car is coded for a flat black hood. Thanks, again!
  12. Was going to go with a custom wheel to get larger wheel and low profile tires....until I saw the Magnum 500's come in larger sizes. What is the largest wheel size that will fit under stock fenders? And will larger rims affect any aspect of handling? Hoping low profile tires will help cornering with the bigger engine. If anyone has pictures of 16",17" or 18" Magnums.....please post!
  13. Well.....currently painted Gulf Stream Aqua. Marty Report gave me correct answer on the Raven Black. So off with the old and in with the Raven Black! Will be back to original by this summer...with FLAT black hood done right. Would appreciate any info on the stripe too. Thanks!
  14. Hello, Does anyone know what determines the 1969 Mach 1 stripe color on a car? My car is original black interior.....seats with red stripe and Raven black exterior. Thanks!
