  1. Ran across this on CL and thought someone here might have an interest. Located in the Omaha area. Not mine. http://omaha.craigslist.org/pts/5932828476.html
  2. Thank you all for the help. On to the next puzzle.
  3. Hi all, Trying to piece together a complete dash for a 69 project and need some help identifying some of the clips. Above the glove box and to the right there are two white plastic clips about an inch apart. Can someone please let me know what these are used for and a possible source to replace them if needed? I am restoring the dash now and they are very brittle. This particular dash likely came out of a Cougar and was not certain if they are specific to that line of car as all the Mustang specific images I can find show these two square holes as empty. Thanks in advance.
  4. Looking for the main front bumper bracket for the LH side. Needs to be straight with minimal rust or pitting. Shipping to Iowa. Thanks in advance. Ryan
  5. Lower dash for a 1970 Mustang without A/C. Very clean unit with zero rust. Back of unit is also clean where they typically have surface rust. $150 plus S&H. I do not have the glovebox. Located in Iowa.
  6. Try West Coast Classic Cougar. Most all Cougars came with wrap around towers standard and they offer good used ones for sale.
  7. x3. Rear power steering pump support bracket. Also called the high pressure hose indexing bracket.
  8. West Coast Cougar has some in their online catalog... http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/c9wy-00915.html?attribs=87 http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/69sprtmirlenspass.html?attribs=87 From their listing... *NOTE* EARLY 69's USED THE 2112 MIRROR FOR BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDES. LATE 69's USED TWO DIFFERENT SIZES FOR EACH SIDE (2124 for driver side, and 2112 for passenger side). BEFORE ORDERING, PLEASE CHECK YOUR DIMENSIONS AND COMPARE TO OUR LISTINGS.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PQw_J52CU0 Sorry. This is for the RH side.
  10. Do a search for Mustang Steve. He provides kits to rebuild your original hinges or you can send them off to have them done.
  11. Specifically it is the bearing retainer that is different. The old one is stepped down with two separate diameters and the new one is one size as the pictures show. Is the bearing collar a precision fit between the bearing and seal inside the housing or is its only function to hold the bearing on the axle shaft? Not certain if I need to try and locate a retainer like what came with it or if I am okay to use the new one.
  12. Thanks, RPM. I purchased replacement parts assuming I had the small bearing housing and these are the ones that do not fit. http://www.npdlink.com/store/index.php?p=catalog&mode=search&search_in=id&search_str=1225-2
  13. Currently restoring a 69 S-Code and need help understanding what exactly I have for parts. I tore down the rear axle housing this weekend and in the process of going to install new seals, bearings and retainers I noticed that the replacement parts I sourced from one of the major vendors are not correct for my housing. I believe I do have the correct replacement parts, but now am not sure what housing I am working with. Like many things on this car it has been modified heavily over the years and am trying to get this car back to original where possible. The old bearing collar is stepped down on the axle interface side as is quite a bit larger than the replacement retainer. The replacement and old bearing do appear to be the same size. I've searched high and low on different forms and catalogs and the only thing I can find is that the replacement parts that I have are correct for what housing I should have. Attached are pictures of the housing and measurements of the old and new bearing collar. Can anyone please confirm that I have the correct 67-70 Mustang style housing and what I should be looking for as a bearing retainer? Thanks in advance for your input.

  15. I used Randy at StangersSite for my steering system rebuild based on previous comments. I have also used Dan at Chocko for other parts and if I could do it over again I would have sent it to Dan without question. The consensus is that Randy does do good work, but the turnaround times and communication is poor at best. as you seem to have also experienced. Took me almost three years to get my parts back. Long after I had already started looking for replacements parts as I needed to start putting my car back together. No real chance for any follow up support or warranty work of any kind if you need it as you cannot get in touch with him. Nothing against Randy, but unless you have no issue waiting several years for your parts and wondering if they'll even come back, not sure why you wouldn't go somewhere else. Dan has always been quick to fill orders and answer questions and I am actually planning to buy my steering box from him as Randy stated mine was not repairable and did not send my core back after I requested it.
  16. Have you tried Mansfield Mustang. Bill specializes in FE cars and I've picked up a number of parts from him for my 69 390 project. For my fan I found them separately and had to have my clutch rebuilt. Took almost 18 months by Fred Oliva so I would look elsewhere if you are in a hurry. Bills would be show quality, but his prices are reasonable. http://mansfieldmustang.com/EngineHBC.html
  17. Might want to look in to the roller clutch setup kits. It's a fair bit of work to do, but will likely address your issue and also free up some of the pedal effort you currently have. There are a number of discussion threads on these both here and on VMF that might be worth a look. Below is an example of the kit and process by Mustang Steve. I used the Scott Drake kit as I had access to the necessary tools. http://www.mustangsteve.com/clutchbearings.html
  18. Impressive as always. Any feedback on the quality of the stripe kit that you used and where you sourced it from? Thanks in advance.
  19. I would reach out to Dan @ Chockostang. He specializes in Mustang steering and brakes and can provide you with the right info and correct rebuilt parts if need be. His website might also have the info you are looking for. I purchased a few parts from him he's easy to deal with and very helpful with questions. http://www.chockostangclassicmustang.com/
  20. Looks like the original units were 46 19/32. As Denny mentioned I would measure to be safe as other things may have changed along the way. http://www.mustangtek.com/differential/Driveshaft.htm

  22. Please do report back on how they look as I am on still on the fence. Have heard mixed reviews as some are second hands being passed off as NOS. Thanks!
