Thanks for the info. I thought the 70-73 Mustang, Cougar spindles were the same. I did a little research and found the M/C boosters are different. I'm taking the pedal arm, just in case. PJ

1970 Mustang Help!! Need Help With A Part Id

I'm not sure, but I think it goes on the top by the ign. key lock. I think its part of the key reminder buzzer. In your pics, Up by the key I see a screw hole and thats where I believe it would go PJ -
I found a 72 Cougar with power disc brakes. Will the spindels fit my 70 Mustang manual drum coupe? and what about the brake booster and brake pedal? can I use those? thanks, PJ

I really didn't know what its worth. Last month I saw a 69 bare coupe, no engine, trans, or glass sell for $5000 here. And I've seen converts and Mach 1's go for $15,000 and up. so it was just a guess. I do have a $6000 offer, but I'm thinking of keeping it and just enjoy it. PJ

I have an R.P.M air gap on my 302, fits no problem. Also have an Edelbrock carb. and a 4in tall air cleaner. I think I have about an inch hood clearance. PJ

I just checked, and it doesn't. It just slides, And there's no o-ring inside the little cap either.

The engine oil dipstick on my 70 302 seems to raise up, about an inch, when i drive at highway speeds. It cause's oil to to splash all around the valve cover, and the the front side of the engine. To me it seems like a pressure build-up in side the engine. I'm running Ford Racing tall valve covers with a pcv valve and breather. Any ideas on what might be causing something like this? I've never really seen this before. PJ

I plan on replacing my p/s control valve on my 70 this weekend, will i need to have the front realigned? I may also replace the idle arm. Any thoughts. PJ

I bought one of do-it-yourself kits off of e-bay for$250. The fit was ok, tailpipes need a little adjusting. Came with cherry bomb turbo mufflers. sounds kinda like the 5.0 Mustangs of the 90's a little rumble at idle and when i mash the gas pedal, it sounds good. I went with the 2.1/4 kit. wish i would have stayed with 2in. had to bend the kickdown lever on the trans. But, I like it for a daily driver. PJ -
Anybody know about running syntheic oil in a higher mileage engine? My 302 is getting a little tired and starting to burn oil between oil changes and I was thinking about switching to synthetic. Would going to a hotter plug help? PJ

I thought someone might need directions, local info. the highway construction is ongoing around here. In April the weather will be warm. So anything I can do. I live about 6 miles from Shelby's place, so I'll make down for the start.
