  1. What do you mean with stock stall? Planned is a total rebuild, I don't want to do it again in the next months or years. I don't know which rebuild kit we will use, I don't do it by myself but I will ask.
  2. Hi, I got the converter today. Really, the shipping costs and custom duty are so expensive and the parts provider in the US are not really keen to lower this extra costs. Thx for your replys. Here pic enclosed. I talked with the guys from summit, got good feedback about this converter and they said he will fit to my fmx gearbox with stock car and 351 engine. Hope it will. Overhaul will start in March. Thx for the link SA69mach, nice and useful. I'll post news soon.
  3. OK, order has been send, new torque converter will be Hughes Performance HUP-3825. Work will be done early March. I think originally the gearbox was not painted, can you advice? I would like to paint the gearbox in blue corporate blue would be nice!
  4. I think so too, it's the right time for a rebuild. I will not do the job by myself but with a friend who has the right skills. I could find the YouTube videos, helpful and nice. TCI website is nice but there are not a lot of info for FMX gearbox
  5. Thanks for your reply, obviously I will post pics. I have some other things to do, like u-joint, harmonic balancer, fuel pump, ... Gearbox rebuild will start end feb or early march. Good tip "braze the fins" I will have a deep look on this. I never opened a converter, do you have some pics related to the fins? The rebuild is preventive, I have just a leakage at the shifter o-ring and this strange noise during the 500 first meters when engine is cold and not every time. Apart from that it works fine and the car is driving very well. I see that we have quiet the same car with FMX gearbox. Mine was also black jade, It's now Acapulco blue, but I don't have A/C.
  6. Merry Christmas and happy new year from France to you and all the mustang owners in this world
  7. I will start shortly to rebuild my FMX gearbox. I have my car, 69 mach 1, since 3 years now and have no idea about any maintenance made on the gearbox previously. I can hear a strange noise when I drive the car during the 500 first meters and after this everything works fine. And it doesn't happened every time. I wonder if I should replace the converter?
  8. Looks nice when every thing is new :-)
  9. I'm thinking about painting my air filter. Are engine and air filter painted in the same color? What is the engine and air filter color code for a mach 1 1969? Enclosed my filter.
  10. Thxs for the advices. Hi Guillaume nice to meet you here. I know now what I have to do .
  11. It's just magic, wondefull car
  12. Nice advice, first time I hear about anti seize compound! I'll try to find this here in France. Best case was not to remove oïl pan because I don't have any leak and I would like to stay in this case. I will not start the work shortly, first of all is find all the items.
  13. Hi all, Klong is an old story. I have changed the rear leafs, grab-a-track 4 1/2. Wonderfull :-) Konis are still on the car and everything is working and driving well
  14. I changed for Grab-a-Trck 4 and 1/2 and the car is at the perfect hight
  15. Hi, Front end seems very low, did you lowered your car?
  16. Thx rsmach1. Definitely I will replace the front seal. 1969_mach1, I know summit very well, already order a lot of items :-) thanks. I saw some movies on YouTube, very interesting, what do you mean with anti-seize compound?
  17. Actually I'm in France and I cannot find such kind of Tools in our shops, unfortunately. I thlink it's a usefull buy, I can lend this tools to another guy :-) I thought about the front seal, can I replace the seal without removing anything else or have I to remove the oïl pan? I bought this car 3 years ago with 33000 miles on the dashboard but you never know what is the real mileage! The damper looks damaged so even if the engine seems nice I would take the opportunity to replace some important parts
  18. I have to buy the removal and installation tool, where can I find a good one? Does it make sens to replace any other item when replacing the damper?
  19. I don't want to add hp, car and engine are stock. I'm quite sure I have 3 bolt damper, I'll check. Thanks for the usefull answers.
  20. ready to work on my mach one this winter :-)

  21. Hi, I have to replace the damper on my mach 1 (69). I can read a lot of information but this is confusing. I could find a lot of information but what is the best solution. Dampers exists from 100 to 500 box, fsi certified or not, with silicon or not, ... What is the difference between internal balanced and external balanced? I need your advice, help.
  22. My konis are without gas. No special sound after hitting pothole or bump and the car doesn't bounce up after initial bump. I was quite satisfied with the koni shocks, but since some weeks I have a strange noice coming from the rear end of the car when I'm turning left or right. Not easy to explain, its like a 'klong'. I don't know which part of the car made this sound, but I guess it should be the shocks or the leaf springs. So I start with replacing the shocks and therefore my question, with gas or without gas shocks? I heard some comments about gas shocks which are too harsh for the mustang chassis. Spider69
  23. Hi, I have to replace the rear suspensions on my mach 1. I have currently std koni, front and rear. I'm a normal driver, no race track. What is the best choice between std and gas shock absorber? And what is the difference in behavior? Spider69
  24. Your were right bob, I have loosen and retighten the U-bolts on both sides and now all is working perfect. Thanks a lot, was a great idea!
