  1. Welcome to another Noc Cal member.
  2. This episode aired last Friday on Velocity. Talk about drama. One guy purposely broke to windshield to create drama and get Bernie all fired up. If you pay attention though the windshield that is tested on the Mustang has a shaded band and a rear view mirror. The one he drops (more like throws) is a late model windshield with the dark band all along the sides. Also the smoke from the engine compartment looks totally fake like a smoke bomb laying underneath the car. Car looks pretty good but they obviously cut corners. And that motor is not making the exhaust note that came out of the television. It is definately dubbed in.
  3. This week a '70 SportsRoof won My Ride Rules. Last week a '69 coupe won. Guess people are finally realizing the "beauty" of these Mustangs.
  4. For a modified car those wheels were out dated. Though it was a nice car there are alot more cars on this forum alone that are nicer.
  5. Any one watch My Ride Rules tonight on Speed? The winning car was a '69 Mustang coupe. It beat a Cobra replica, Ram Pickup and a Scion TC. The Scion TC owner was an ahole. He made alot of comments like all Mustangs are the same and Fords can't stop.
  6. I have a Dustop. You can get one from California Car Cover or even JC Whitney.
  7. So are you still saving the Grande or moving on to this new car?
  8. If you are dealing with an repro molding those things have a tendency of not wanting to stay on properly.

  10. After dealing with a supervisor I was paid a fair settlement and then I let my Grundy insurance lapse when it came up for renewal in late August. I have since signed up with Hagerty and I'm saving approximately $300 a year to boot.

    Boss 429

On the show Gearz, Stacy David is putting one of those motors in a '68 Cougar. They even went to the facility that builds those Boss motors on one episode.
  12. Yes deluxe seats and Grande seats the have wood emblems. There are two on each seating position. It is somewhat rare to find deluxe interior. Not sure of the numbers off hand. They did build 22,000 Grandes and their interior uses cloth which differs from the deluxe interior.
  13. In '69 they used both recessed and flush. There was a change over from recessed to flush but I'm not sure when exactly it occurred. I believe it was in the spring. I know my January San Jose built Grande had the recessed while my May San Jose built SportsRoof had the flush. For a brief time they were stacking the recessed lens to make them flush. A friend of mine had a few mint recessed lenses by find a few cars this way.
  14. I've owned my SportsRoof since 1983 and it has been kept relatively stock with the 302 2V. Since now the Grande is the show piece and SportsRoof has a 25 year old paint job I want to make it a driver with a little more go. Recently I had the intake manifold swapped with a vintage C9 aluminum intake (like the Shelby) and added repro CS Shelby valve covers. Have to change the heater core now since moving the heater hoses caused the connector to crack under the dash thus the bypass hose. Here are the before and after photos. Looks like I'm going to need to remove some stuff and repaint this winter.
  15. For a car kept in the garage go with the Dustop. California Car Covers and JC Whitney both carry it. I bought mine from JC Whitney but it seems a little short on the sides so if I had to do it again I spend the extra money and purchase it from California Car Covers.
  16. That probably wouldn't be a bad idea since no one at Grundy Insurance will allow me to speak to Jim Grundy or email him. Through their website where it says contact us I have asked to speak to him.

  18. Grundy Insurance / Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance is now asking to have another independent appraiser look at the vehicle. One that they are hiring. I've told him that I don't have much of an issue with the initial estimate except that there are no prices for the parts, clearcoat labor was left off and some other R&I times. I don't think a second appraisal will matter since the first appraiser agrees on the damage but won't verify the prices or come up with his own. As mentioned above they have purposely underwritten the estimate and are hoping that I will go away.

  20. I heard from Heacock (American Specialties) this morning and I am getting a bad vibe already. I asked him for reimbursement for the entry fee for the Palo Alto Concours that I could not attend last Sunday because of the damages. He said he wasn't sure if the policy covered that. I can understand my insurance not covering it but as a claimant I am entitled to be reimbursed for that entry fee due to the negligence of their insured.
