  1. got the car back home and installed my old wheels for now. one question has anyone ever used the "Hide-Away" Antennas? are they good? just realized my fender doesn't have the mount hole.
  2. make sure your build area is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! lol
  3. I agree, i like to be "spirited" with my cars. if u have a Stock to mild motor I think you'll be fine with stock brakes, BUT if ur going to have huge horsepower/tq like me, 392w stroker with about 400hp+ then honestly, i recommend getting larger brakes from an aftermarket company
  4. From what VV told me, as long as you don't get a wide tire u should have no Problem. As long as it doesn't hit the fuel line and depending on the tire width u may need a to use BFH on the inner wheel housing lol For the front he said his partner runs 275 n the front but it hits the front valance so he recommends going with a smaller tire I may go with 245 or 255 275 is what I'm going with aswell I'll keep u posted.
  5. there are alot of different brands out there, I for one went with vintagevenom. I just test fitted my fr500s which are 18x9/18x10 (rear), before doing this emailed them and they said i can fit any 18x9 wheel with out a problem so long as i don't go wide on the tires which will rub against my front Valance. my 392w stroker that I have is estimated with the right carb, headers etc..should be around 400-450hp with 380tq and im running this behind a c4 from performance automatic. Also I will be upgrading my 8' to posi along with HD axles. GL with ur build.
  6. what kinda of wheels do you have? also if the leafs are still good you can get traction bars which eliminate wheel hop.
  7. sorry haven't uploaded new pics for awhile. I bought some used 18x10s really cheap and finally bought 2 18x9 from american muscle's October sale. thank god i got them in time they were $100 each, so i couldn't pass up a good deal. Sealer is on so they can finally paint it :D i can't believe I'm showing you her underside!!! I should charge you guys! shock towers reinforced and welded. **** teaser shots still needs to be cut n polished, but will post more pics, once everything is starting to be assembled ;D also going to paint the tail panel black along with the rear brake light trim. will post pics along the way.
  8. sucks, same thing happened to me, so i adjusted the strut bar and it finally cleared.
  9. could be that the previous owner changed it to an automatic? have you looked to see if the drivetrain is original? or was originally manual?
  10. well it can be done, but im sure alot of modifying is a must. personally i love our 69-70 valance.
  11. sorry to change topic, but whats going on, everything at a stand still?
  12. got mine from FPS, I herd Fordstrokers is really good, Keithkrat I herd is superb. if anything i think it would be better to go to a local machine shop and having them do it. in case anything you can take it back instead of shipping the motor back n fourth. but if you do go for an out of state shop ask everything, even if its the most dumb question in the world they should answer it. I had a nightmare with a shop in LA in the end he went out of business and took tons of ppls money including mine, finally i found him working at a company and I garnished his wages. he still owes me, but i can easily find him.
  13. congrats! I have 4 years under my belt since I haven't driven her since 09'. I bet its a good feeling to driver her again.
  14. never herd of them, seems to be a simple install. but haven't seen anyone use them. I herd good things about http://www.ajeracing.com/64-70Mustang.php you can leave the shock towers as is or notch them if you decide to go with a 4.6 - coyote 5.0L http://www.ajeracing.com/64-70Mustang.php
  15. for 11k thats a very nice deal. Over here in CA ppl overprice them and they are rusted to hell.
  16. TexasEd- keep us posted and tell how that 8 rear end goes! :D
  17. The tube is suppose to have a tab which gets bolted to the bell housing.

  21. I remember when everyone started debating about the c4's. Everyone thought they were light, weak etc.. until someone made stronger parts they started to get a reputation of being beast handlers, lol. lately, I have started to notice the same thing with ford 8", it seems ppl are throwing a lot at them. So I'm sure later on more better quality parts will come out and I'm sure they will get a great rep like the c4. again, its all up to preference to the owner. I have seen some pretty well built 9's get destroyed and cars ran 11-12's. but like stated above its the high rpm + shock + sticky tires which will cause the rear to blow.
  22. no, you would have to ditch your whole 8" setup unless its the same spline as the 9" or you can buy a complete setup with axles, housing, differential for about 2k+ from currie. There are other brands besides currie, I just can't think of any. lol thats only the housing and axles if u decide to just find a used 9" differential: http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/productsCR.aspx?id=2704&p=1049.9500 also if you stick with ur 8" there's an eBay Seller that claims his ford 8" can handle up to 550hp I spoke with him, and he is very knowledgable. I haven't spoke to anyone who has bought his rearend so I'm not sure if its true what he says. he has a ton of good feedback but of course imo that is not enough.
  23. ford 8" are good units and can be built to perform like a 9" but building it would probably come out to the same price if you were building a 9" hence, ppl tend tend to ditch the 8" and go with the larger popular setup. you can build it, not saying you can't. i've seen some ol dragster still having ford 8" and they runs 10's on the track. Im sure some more experience gents can help you out more in this field. Im still debating on my set up aswell since my 392 stroker is putting out 450hp lol..
  24. heheh didn't see that part just skimmed to all the pics lol
  25. wow I remember basin' this was the first time i ever fell in love with that year! :D I think its a reasonable price aswell
