  1. Another way to look at this is, if the car is not truly what you desire, yet it is a good deal, then consider flipping it, and using the proceeds from your sale for the project that you really desire. It is called snow balling and alot of car enthusiasts do it, especially with parts cars etc... Let us know how it ends up. Bill
  2. Congratulations on starting to see some progress, mine has been sitting for 3 years, and I often think of selling, but the wife says no...I got to be patient and look forward to that day, the day that you are currently experiencing....thanks for the photos.. Bill
  3. I believe that I have a complete set, white in color in fair condition. PM me and I can send some photos. Selling a complete set.. Bill from Canada
  4. Another thing to consider is; what do you want to do with the car. If 1969 Mustang's are your passion and you will be restoring the car completely, then that will affect the negotiation. If the car is going to be a daily driver, and you don't have to put too much money into it, then that also affects the price. What concerns me is that something does not add up. The exterior is way too nice compared to the condition of the interior and engine compartments...that would make me very concerned about what if hidden form the naked eye. Check the rails for rust and floors for rot. Is this a highly optioned car? What makes this car unique to add value to the car? these are other things to consider... As a rule of thumb, I always start negotiations at half of the asking price and work up from there, and I always point to the flaws and how the car really is not what I was not looking for. I am still in search of that 69 Shelby for $150.00. Good Luck and keep us posted...
  5. When I was in grade 8 in 1978, I happened to walk through the cars up for auction at the Ottawa Exhibition Fair grounds and was in awe of a 1969 Shelby Mustang, dark silver if I recall, and I believe that it sold at auction for $6900.00. I was just a kid and asked my father to make a bid, but he was driving a 1970 Green Ford Country Squire station wagon and did not see the practicality of the Shelby....opportunities lost... 6. Welcome, take lots of photos and post lots as well.. Bill from Canada
  7. How about a large one like a 69 Dart GT style, it would most likely be larger than the 429 BOSS.
  8. Hey flight Your car sits much nicer now. Can you send me an email, I will be in Victoria in the near future and it would be cool to see your ride. (unfrozen2@yahoo.ca) Bill
  9. What do you mean, ThanksGiving was like a month ago....and I'll have a medium double double from Timmies..... Bill from Canada, Eh...
  10. I am assuming that we are talking about when you are out in public with your ride....what about at your residence. I once saw a guy who built a cage in his garage to protect his car, so even of you got into his garage, you would then have to get through the cage, and the door of the cage would only open if the garage door was open, so someone breaking in would not be concealed...seemed a little extreme to me...
  11. Prices also vary from region to region, maybe look for some comaprisons to help in the negotiations. Consider the frame-rails, as they require a fair amount of welding to replace. Also ensure that your father in law has the space to do a complete tear down and rebuild. It would help if you post some photos so that a better judgement can be made, what is not so bad in your opinion maybe really bad in mine or others. Bill from Canada, eh..
  12. Today is my yesterday's tomorrow...
  13. You have more recourse available to you by posting your comments on google groups, as it may get exposure, just be careful of slander issues, etc...but people need to be warned or made aware of what you went through, as other classic cars owners outside of mustangs may be pondering whether to use these guys...
  14. I love it, especially the foot hanging through the floor and the piece of rope as a throttle...classic.
  15. Well the auction just closed and it did not hit the reserve and it ended up at just over 25 large....not a bad price for the condition of that car despite the top not being functional....I have not seen to many convertible's getting much higher than that...
  16. Let us know how the installation goes, post some pixs as well
  17. I don't know the authentic answer to your question, but I have seen all of your examples in regards to the hood scoop. Flat and Gloss paint, as well as painted the same color as the car. I do not believe that there is a gasket between the scoop and the hood, but I could be wrong.
