  1. Mike, I have been following your build for the better part of 5 years now and I’m so impressed and excited that you are getting so close! Congrats on all the progress and keep on it!
  2. Thank you all for the advice! I started a new job this week and have been busy with that. I'll tear into the motor some this weekend and try and get some more info. I would love to go to 408W but just don't have the money currently obviously but eventually will buy a 351 block and build that slowly as money and time Permit. Barnett, rear gears should be 2.89 and I have seen that cam but would that give better performance over stock cam? Sorry if that is an uneducated question but I am still learning.

  4. Thank you so far for the advice. I may have been unclear as far as upgrades. I am looking at upgrading internals mostly (roller cam, forged pistons, aluminum pistons, hi flow oil pump, ported heads, etc?) that sort of thing as I can purchase headers/carb and easily bolt them on later they do not depend on the motor being apart for upgrading. And yes boring it to 331 maybe for more HP. I already have a high flow radiator. Sorry for the confusion and I still appreciate the advice.
  5. Hey all, My engine has started making some dreaded knocking noises which I am fairly sure has to do with worn bearings(Crank/Connecting Rod). I have previously taken the oil pan off and know there is more play than there should be in some of the connecting rod bearings. We purchased another car just in time for this one start to break down so I can actually work on the mustang and not worry about how I'll get anywhere thankfully. I am looking at doing a rebuild of my bone stock 302 small block. I have 2.5" exhaust with a C4 behind the engine. currently it has a 2bbl intake and carb, but will probably upgrade that. The car is mostly just for crusing and I am slowly working on things. It was "rebuilt" when I bought it, though clearly not very well. when I bought the thing I didn't know enough to realize how bad it was done. While I am rebuilding the engine I would like to possibly add a little more budget performance. I am looking to stay in the $900 range for the rebuild not including any machine work that may need to be done due to the failures in the engine. Specifically, what are your thoughts on boring it out? I have just started looking into rebuild kits and different components so any advice/suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!
  6. My favorite part was "sucks big chunks of atmosphere" when talking about the shaker.

    So True

Ha that is a good one. I would pick me one up, but well.... ya know. Mustang parts.
  8. I agree with what everyone else says. Switch or at least look into it. When I moved my rates went from ~$78 with 2 vehicles to $102 with just one on bare bones coverage. I switched and pay $48 for full coverage on the same vehicle.
  9. Did I hear finished with the floor?! Way to go! I had to replace far less than you, but I know it felt great to be able to sit inside and not have my feet on the ground. Great progress!
  10. You will get opinions both way but ultimately you should do what you want to do with it.
  11. Also interested in the AC stuff. Message me if Van falls through
  12. Now that you mention it I remember you posting something about him wanting to give it back. Crazy if you ask me. I a, lad you found the one you want for the long term. The other cars were just practice to make this one perfect!
  13. Welcome back! I joined about the time you were half through the Torino. I admired what you did with that! The custom center console comes to mind off the top of my head. I look forward to following you on this build too! 67 is just a number!
  14. Welcome. A lot of people like using the 351W platform as is or bored out to 408. You can make some real good power with the 408. A T56 trans will give you 5 speeds and handle more horsepower. Modern driveline will give you a complete trans swap kit with everything you need for ~$2500 depending on what all you have already. Disc brakes are a must if you don't already have them! There is a large aftermarket section for mustangs so lots of looking to do!
  15. I'm good at organizing short term so hopefully it won't be a problem. My problem is when I write passenger window on a bag and then a year later try to remember where the piece came from. Hah. Getting better each time though. Thanks for the encouragement.
  16. I read about the Bad Shoe videos and they did seem to be the most popular. I just don't have a lot of money so want to make sure I'm getting something helpful. 8 hours is perfect. I'm sure it will take me longer as per the usual mishaps but that makes me feel better about my ~50hour time limit. I'm sure I will have some questions as I go so I will post here if necessary. Probably wont be until week after thanksgiving as long as it lasts me that long before going Ka-put!
  17. Hi all. I am looking into rebuilding my C4 as it needs a new transmission oil pump. I do not have much experience with transmissions but that is where y'all come in. First, any guess on roughly how long a rebuild will take provided all tools/parts etc are readily available? I'm looking to try and do this in a weekend. Also, do I need to replace the torque converter? Seems like that would be a good idea. I could use some help on rebuild kits as I see them ranging from $90 to $250 dollars. I have a stock 302 in the car and don't need a performance kit for the trans. I think the ones around $120 look best for what I need but would Like some help. Finally, are there any special tools needed? I know I need to check my torque wrench to see the minimum on it. Any additional tips would be great. Thanks for reading the long post.
  18. Welcome! Looks like you have an all there car. I made the mistake of buying mine after a lot of it had been disassembled. Putting things back together is so much harder not knowing where it came from that being said, pictures will be your best friend. Label your bolts in bags too. Even if you buy new ones it is nice to have something to compare it to.
  19. My dogs aren't the best guard dogs as they love people but Oaklin (big guy) is protective of me and Knox (little guy). They both love rides in the mustang (because it is fast) though their hair gets everywhere. Oaklin is an Australian shepherd husky mix and Knox is an American Eskimo husky mix.
  20. This happened to me a few times. It turned out to be a bad ground to the engine block. Might want to check that.
  21. All, Thank you for the information. Unfortunately it does appear that my pump may be going bad. I did find a slight leak in the transmission cooler lines and fixed that. I am now able to shift to reverse but found the fluid level has to be a bit lower than the full line. Just have to ride it out as long as I can until I have more time and space to fix the transmission right.
  22. Hey thanks for all the bad news! But seriously thanks. I would enjoy doing it myself but moved into an apartment so don't really have space. I also don't think they would appreciate me tearing my car apart in their parking lot. Ha. Maybe I'll look at local shops for rent and try to do it there.
  23. Wycked69, Thank you for the information on the network54 site. Lots of good stuff on there. MaxPower, Unfortunately from looking up symptoms of a bad pump this looks to be my case. I just moved from Arizona to Georgia so funds are pretty tight. Is there a way to determine it is the pump other than pulling it apart?
