Does CJs (or similar) sell the hardware I'd need? i'd probably just run it as a fixed back.

That's hysterical! I had a buddy in College that did that with his FOX body mustang. He put magnets on his "5.0" emblems, and would take them off and try to race kids who thought it was a 4cyl :)

hey Guys... I was going through more parts last night, and I'm not sure what rear seat I have. Any help is appreciated on how it bolts in. It looks like it uses hinges that attach to the floor, and maybe latches on the side? However, I don't think this is a flip down seat since its only two sections - not three.

So my rear aprons were torn apart by someone trying to get the hinges off: I just ordered up some new premium ones from CJs during their sale last week. They should be here later today. http://www.cjponyparts.com/premium-rear-fender-apron-passenger-side-1969-1970/p/XM327R/ -
Wow - Great updates! Your work is amazing!

What would you recommend I strip it with? Chemical (Aircraft?) Or sand it by hand? -

That '69 you guys are doing with the Boss Motor, and the Agent 47 Harbinger were a bit of inspiration for that decision! So thanks, MTF!! -

Long Time Coming... My First Resto!

Hey Guys, Not much has happened this summer with the car itself, but I did decide to go in a TOTALLY different direction with the Motor. In the middle of the summer I had a co-worker who blew the motor in his truck, and desperately needed a new block. He offered me way more than I paid for my 351, so I decided to let it go to him. That got me thinking that since this isn't some numbers matching rarity - I should follow my real dream for it, and Resto-Mod it! Almost as soon as I had that thought, I found a SMOKING deal on a 2004 Mach1 Engine and Tremec Transmission. It included all the harnesses, computer, pedals, cable, etc. I use the last bit of money I had in my "car" budget and ordered it up! I'll be going with the Rod & Custom Front end kit to mount this baby in there. I'll also have a field day wiring it up, but am hoping that Ron Francis can help out with most of that stuff. -

That is also the plan.... get it down to metal, and then re-spray it with an Epoxy Primer. For the time being though - i just want to get it dirt free. I have to change clothes every time I go near her since she's such a filthly pig right now :tt1: -

Okay cool... that's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if that would eff up this old Primer. -
Hey Guys, This may sound simple, but I don't want to do it the wrong way and create problems... As some of you know my car was stripped, and primed with etch primer years ago by the PO. It sat in his barn in TX for years before he sold it to me. I want to clean the car inside and out since its full of dirt & dust. I'll obviously vacuum out the big stuff, but I was concerned with just hosing it off since I don't want to rust any of the metal. It was covered in an etch primer which is deteriorating in spots and some surface rust is starting to show through. Here's a pic from last night where you can kind of see the layers of dust/dirt all over it:

has anyone done an intermittent wiper conversion

Can it be the one from any of the 70s trucks as well? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-truck-wiper-delay-switch-F150-F250-F-150-Bronco-89/111228662336?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D261%26meid%3D3191141795725554675%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D151177206319%26 -
First off - Big thanks to everyone here!! Excellent info from everyone!! I went home at lunch and checked the car out again. Luckily I found VERY good news - All 3 VINs (dash & both fenders) all match! The passenger side fender VIN was partially welded over at one point, but I can probably clean it up with a wire wheel/grinder Dash Plate Driver Side Rail Passenger Side Rail Now I'll look into going through the DMV paperwork vs. using an agency like Brian did...

Do you remember the name of the service you went through?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if any of you have had to go through some hoops to Title your cars. I'll give you the back story... I live in CA (Orange County), and bought my Fastback from a guy in Texas named Alan last spring. He sent me a title for the car, but it is outdated and already filled out by a previous owners in this order The front of the title has the owner as Alex K. (1995) The back of the title has it being transferred from Alex K. to Bob G. (1997) Apparently Bob G. never mailed it in to get new paperwork since he took it off the road and never registered it. He stripped the car down to the shell and got in over his head. Bob then sold it to Alan. (2005) Alan then sold it to me. (2013) So the original Title I have is for the right car, but its so old now (shows the original was 1995) that I'm not sure the best way to get this sorted out. I looked at the CA DMV Website and they have the following page about Titling a car that has missing/no history: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs%2Fbrochures/howto/htvr14.htm It looks like I'd have to fill out several forms to get it done, but one of the forms requires the DMV to inspect the car as well. That's where I run into my second problem... The car doesn't have its original door tags. Is there anywhere else Ford would have stamped the VIN on the body of the car? I know its the right car since I was given lots of photos of the tear down and stripping/priming of the body. I also pulled the Marti Report for the car using the VIN on the title, and it matches everything the seller told me (originally an auto, 351, Gold int, Gold ext, etc). Any help would be appreciated! I'm sure I'm not the only guy who's missing the door tag since they were only riveted on. :pinch:
