  1. Good for you! Seems that only a year ago I would have been one of 5 or so Stangs with this conversion, not anymore, it's spreading like wildfire. I might be able to find a home for a set, let me make some calls. If they are interested I'll tell them $50 and you can make a few bucks for your trouble and everyone wins. Do you know what year they are from? With or without speakers, etc?
  2. It depends on how your car was ordered, I believe you could get the standard interior with the convienience package that had extra lighting. A marty report is probably the only way to know for sure.
  3. Uh oh, sounds like someone may have tried to save a few bucks and bought a three legged engine stand. Must have been fun to pick it back up I'll bet. Just be thankful you didn't crush your foot or something. I know it's not what you want to hear but I would be a little concerned about the crankshaft itself too.
  4. Transmission will make a big difference too in your gear choice. I currently have 2:79 with my 3spd but when I go to a 5spd I will likely step up to 3:50 at least since I will now have overdrive for the highway.
  5. Well, I don't know where Dynacorn gets their info from, all I know is I own a convertible and thankfully I have nothing that looks like that in my car so I'm out of ideas. I would love to see a finished interior shot of a dynacorn car because I don't see how you could ever hide that and I can't see how any console aside from custom built is ever going to sit flat across the whole tunnel unless somehow the aftermarket ones made to go over an exisiting console have enough clearance for it. This will be interesting to follow along on to say the least. I just can't imagine any car having so much flex that it makes this obstacle worth overcoming.
  6. the dot doesn't make it work either. Are you saying you manually typed in all those links.
  7. Thanks for the offer but I think I'll hold out a few more summers and wait until you decide to go concourse and have all that cool almost new pro touring stuff to sell off. :shaun: LOL
  8. Yikes! I just put my carpet back in my vert and my original seat risers look nothing like that, granted they aren't one piece but if they were and looked like that then the convertible carpet would not fit either, it would have to fall short at the rockers with that giant camel hump in the middle of the tunnel. Even if you get it covered I have to think it is going to look horrible unless somehow you can cover it with a hallowed out console or somethiing. Are you sure it is installed correctly? I can't help but think that it is supposed to replace part of the tunnel and not go on top of it. The only suggestion I can think of is to cut a large slit into the carpet in the center of each seat pan that would be hidden under the seat and it may stretch open enough to give the extra needed to cover the hump and reach each rocker still.
  9. I usually just buy the "cut by the foot" stuff at the local auto store for things like that.
  10. VCM is usally my vendor of choice, or at least the catalog I always look in first when I want something. Their service has always been very good and more often that not they have the best price. I have never bought interior trim from them but I'm pretty sure it is TMI which is about the best. Since your order is so large at $2500 I would just do yourself a favor and double check the totals at some other places too if you are on a budget. Certainly not trying to talk you out of VCM by any means but several places offer free shipping over $500 and in addition some places like say CJ Pony for example have a club called the herd that cost $40 to join and you get 5% off every order so in your case that's $125. Add it all up and you could easily save hundreds even if their list price seemed higher on each item.
  11. Agreed, all black would look better. The 69' is one of the few Mustangs I think looks better that way honestly. I hate seeing another color when so many components are black only anyway making it in reality a two tone interior. The white is OK but that is about it. I especially don't like it when people leave the bottom of the door body color, it looks so much better in black. If anything I would say adding some type of pop to any area that was formally wood grain would be all I would do but I would not use blue still, I'd go with a brushed aluminum look or something like that.
  12. Yeah, it does grow on ya a little, I'm sure it's actually even a smaller scale in person and looks better than in the chop. Boy would that make 69GrandeCJ's car look like even more the sleeper.
  13. First thing to do is remove the stainless trim, it pulls right off and is alot easier to work with than on the car. The old rubber is likely one with the part if original, you can leave it in the sun for a while to try and soften it but odds are you will have to carefully dig it all out. To reinstall you can either spray some graphite lubricant or WD-40 in the channel or rub a little liquid soap on the back side of the weatherstrip itself and then just ease it in.
  14. Correct. Once in User CP go to Settings & Options and click on "edit options", the section you want is at the bottom.
  15. Did you happen to look at any of the VIN #'s? After 40 years it could be a 70' with 69' doors, a 69' with a 70' nose or simply a 70' that someone took the glass from for their 69' already and dumped the old 69' glass into it. There are many combinations and scenarios to explain it that are not equal to how the car was originally made.
  16. Not a good candidate for phot chop. Because of the angle you can only use a profile shot and it would have to be a huge pic to show the nose with any detail. The scale is probably too big, I have no idea what size it actually is, thought it would look best on a Grande though. MMMMMMMMM, sexy.
  17. Here's one of the pics you posted but now that I look at it again I think it's too much of a competition orange and not so much the color you are looking for.
  18. Yeah for a bogus illegal scheme that is a little steep. You won't go to jail for it though, trust me. Worse case I guess I am not too far away from you in NH and we do not title cars this old here (mine is still a MA title) so I could always try to the sell to - sell back too scheme for you if the BOS don't work out for some reason.
  19. Boy I wish someone wanted something other than orange lately, lol. OK, well, my first one didn't come out as good as I had hoped. It was a very dark blue (you can see I missed the drivers mirror) so I had to desaturate the whole thing first to make it orange which leaves it looking a little fake. Also it does not have all the details you wanted, it has a 429 scoop instead of a mach type and it has the duck tail out back instead of a spoiler. This car in its original state is the most incredible coupe I have ever seen though, the actual paint looks like glass, so I had to try it. I have a couple other pics that might serve better so I will do those next.
  20. Either try to google the person you bought it from and see if you can get in touch with them or just write out a bill of sale yourself. You must have gotten a bill of sale originally, no? I would try to date it correctly for when you got it, use a dirty old piece of loose leaf if you can and make it look like it's been hanging around for ever, no one will question it.
  21. I'll bet those are the same as the ones I got free with my Husky compressor. Haven't used them on a car yet but I did use them with watered down laytex to spray all the doors and dresser when I redid the baby's room. My wife still can't believe how good they turned out, she was dead set against re-using the dresser when I said I would repaint it but it came out perfect with a very smooth finish compared to a brush or roller so I would have high hopes for it with the right paint and some patience.
  22. I found a bunch of different pics on Friday that might work well. I'll try to get something posted for you by this afternoon.
  23. I'll put it on my to do list and get right on that.
  24. Tact plays a big part in it though too, you don't have to be blatant and crude just to insult someone. If you are smart you can do it without the person even knowing. For example, my reply to this particular post would simply be "I can honestly say if you did that I would not like your car any less.":shifty: BTW R4K, you are such a dog.
  25. I don't know how different the VV kit is from Mustang Steve's but here is a nice write up on the MS kit installed form a guy named Edbert that a bunch of us know on Stangnet, maybe it will help. http://www.edbert.net/brakes.htm If you still have some issues by next weekend I can get the names and numbers from the box of my rotors when I go home.
