I would go ahead and replace it. New tanks are relatively inexpensive. Plus you don't want any crud messing up your new carb, pump and lines. I would go through and replace the bushings in the suspension

Here's what the car looked like when I picked it up: new headers and valve covers i have since gotten rid of the old intake and carb spacer disk brake swap from CSRP new wheels and tires That's just some of the progress I have made, more to come soon!

is weight an issue? looks? price? i used these wheels (also granada spindles) in a 16" size http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr-3655812/overview/ they look decent, are 8 in wide and theyre cheap. 8 inches is about as wide as you can go in the front before you start rubbing the spindle.
