While I waited.... I took care of some surface rust then painted the floor with some Eastwood rust encapsulator.
Then I did the following for heat and soundproofing.
    1. Sound Deadner - pick your favorite brand. I had some left over from a past project.
    2. Decoupling - I used "Design Engineering Under Carpet Lite" (Carpet Lite)
    3. ACC's Essex Carpet with the Mass Backing. It's also molded, and worked great. (Mass Backing)
Also, If your going to tackle something like this - do yourself a favor and purchase  10 inch heavy duty scissors, they cut thru all these products, and made the carpet install a breeze.

    Heads

Picked up an Offenhauser dual plane. I had some recommended machining done, had it cleaned. Painted the heads and intake with Eastwood's ceramic engine paint. I may use this instead of the single plane intake.

Tacked the RH quarter on, has a subtle 2" bumpout.

Update on this bump steer. Borgeson stated they had not found an issue in all their installs. They did suggest to pull the pitman arm and see if any paint was preventing it form sitting higher up on the sector shaft, which was going to be plan B.
Whilst thinking about the steering I pulled the sump to fix the rear main seal leak. Half a tube (literally) of Dow Corning black silicone later it was back on. It don't leak so far, fingers crossed. Looked up and the p/s pump had a weep from the pressure hose. Reefed on that fitting to tighten it.
Whilst under there I had a look at the tie rod ends. Found out that I had been supplied 1969 items, not 70 which may not have helped the steering issue. I replaced them with new 1970 ones.
I thought I'd try another shop for a wheel alignment, so I went to one recommended by another Stang owner, which luckily was 20  minutes away. An hour later, the new shop had pretty much dialled out the problem. It's not *perfect* but it is much better than it was. I'm glad that is sorted.
Last, found a helpful person on the Holley Sniper forum, who gave me some tips and provided a new configuration file. The PCV valve was the older flapper style so I spent 28 bucks on Amazon getting a fixed orifice one, and plumbed it into the front vacuum port of the Sniper. The oil breather cap was also puking oil out when I gave it a Big Rev, so I replaced it with a Cleveland (uurrgghh) style cap with the hose into the air cleaner. It still leaks, but only slightly.
The new tune was pretty wild - lit up the rears in first and second on power, and rolling in second it would light them up at will. (I had some fun with a sports bike behind me, showing him the side stripe at will). Not really practicable but, so I pulled the timing back a bit which has toned it down. But I miss the sideways action so I might stick a couple of degree's more timing back in (insert evil emoji here). But it sounds alright I think.

IMG_0523.MOV After all that, I finally washed it after 10 months of shop dust got to me, and hit with a random DA polisher and some Poor Boys EXP paint sealant. It's a good looking car from 10 feet but the paint is crud and I have managed to put all sorts of chips and marks in the paint. Lucky I prefer drivers not show queens.

RPM, Thanks.  It’s been a long process, now the fun part starts, which is bolting all the stuff I have onto the car. Some of it it’s been in storage for a few years, so there’s still a few “surprises” when I unpack things.
No, not me at the tow rig, those were the folks from the paint shop, delivering the car
Yes, the right height is at its final adjustment. After the alignment was done, made the final tweak on the Viking coil overs on the front and adjusted the right height to make sure I wouldn’t have any tire rub on the inside of the front fenders, as I’m running about 5° of caster.

Apparently, a BOT was using enough bandwidth that the system ran out of allotted bandwidth.  The service provider has apparently blocked that from happening again.
But yes, more money paid to the provider would allow more bandwidth to be used per month.

Sooo, Carb is overhauled, installed and my biggest nightmare - installing of engine with tranny is done!!! Due to lack of time for quality time in garage I decided to order whole exhaust and not to build it by myself.  That's the last thing to my initial engine start :)

I was able to get to the track for a test and tune night for its first three passes.
The launch limiter was set at 3500rpm initially thinking that was conservative, but it was blowing the tires off in the first two gears on those two passes.  The car was 100% as I drive it on the street (even tire pressure and shock settings).  On the third pass i just took off easy.
Ran almost 135mph on the second pass and 136 mph on the third pass.
I have everything to be legal to faster than 9.99 and 135 except the paper work for roll cage cert and the competition license.

Thanks, the toughest part was fabricating the exhaust pod in the rear. the stock Shelby pod is a massive restriction to flow.

I have been working on the wiring in the trunk the last few weeks. I am doing a little at a time, like baby steps to get it done. Thanks to everyone who posted pics or responded to my post looking for info how to run the taillight harness so I can keep plugging along with the wiring. Today I ran the ground wires for the taillights & side lights to the ground screw on the trunk support.

Had a surprising weekend with my stang 'Penny' guys.  I had signed up for the Keels & Wheels "Concourse de' Elegance" show in Seabrook, TX.  Ive been twice before (last before covid), but this show is full of amazing vehicles, and I have been happy they let me even show.
Well, I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to "up my game" in a short amount of time, and I noticed that the trunk was 10pts of the score.  I've never liked the stock treatment and said I wouldn't do it, but I never seem to get around to "doing it right" like I said I would.  So, to try to improve my score I bought the stock trunk liner, jack bag, and spare-tire cover.  Spent a little bit of time laying it in there, and trying to make it look decent.  Came out like this:

All I had to say was: "Well, it certainly looks better than nothing/what I had".  So I went with it.

The surprise came when I checked the judges sheet Sunday afternoon:  "Best in Class"!!  Unbelievable!
I've only put the car in maybe a half-dozen shows, and I've never done better than second place anywhere.  But the real surprise is that the show in Seabrook is one of the more prestigious shows (at least around here).
It rained on Saturday, but didn't take any sunshine out of the day for me.  Aaron Shelby was here, and gave me a big "congrats" when I left the show - certainly an amazing day for me:

Making progress.  Getting front end mocked up with the spoiler and bumper.  Some hood adjustments needed, but nothing serious.
Used billet hood hinges.  Good news is that they are really strong, and the hood does not move/wiggle/etc.  Bad news is that the bolt holes were just a little off, so needed to move one of them.  Oh well, 53 year old mass produced car..... to be expected.
Will bring up the hood trim and headlight extension trim tomorrow so they can fit/align everything.  Then off to the first trip to the paint booth next week.

I agree.  There is a guy who goes to Carlisle that sells Fiberglass Reproductions.  That is who I got mine from.  They are a fraction of the price, and look good  I am obviously building a Resto-Mod not a Concours car.   http://www.fordramair.com/new/products/shakers.htm
I got the trim ring and backing brackets from NPD.   The NPD hood came pre-drilled for the shaker ring.
    Some pics below.
