The hood looks great painted.. Here are a couple of pics.. I get it back tomorrow just after the new winshield gets installed.. The hood was right at $550

Thanks Dan, I should get my car back next weekend. That was the deadline that I set.. Its coming along good, just needs some more blocking and then paint..

Can someone please tell me if the top piece of the rear window trim has clips and screws or if it just mounts via the screws which also go through the side trim pieces too?? Need to know..

Oh, and he has straightened that drivers side quarter out a bit, it had taken some damage from a previous owner collision, and replaced the tail light pannel and the rear valance and cut a few spots of metal out along the rear window channel which got all new metal, so he is doing good and working pretty fast. He had 3 other guys with him to strip it and then pretty much took over all the finishing work for himself.. he likes the work to reflect him. and he gets all excited when he finishes a section which makes me feel like he is not just doing it as a job, hes actually got a passion for it. Anyway, thanks for the comments.

He has done good so far,, down to bare metal then a skim of filler where needed after the metal work, then an epoxy primer to seal it up and now he is working with spraying and blocking a poly primer. He says he usually gets 4-6 coats of poly on, blocking each time and from the work he has done, he knows his stuff.. Even though its in his back yard. I just hope it comes out great. From his previous clients, they have told me that its hard for this guy to "not put a $15,000 looking quality paint job on a car".. Im just keeping my fingers crossed.

I dropped the car off a couple of weeks ago and wanted to let you guys see the progress pics.. The roof was horible,, pitted along the seams front to back from the vinyl top and the previous owner pulled it off and covered the rust with bondo.. That didnt last very long..

Go with a Ron Francis Wiring harness.. I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and after reading through the installation manual and it seems pretty straight forward and simple enough to have done in a few hours.. It came with the correct plugs for alternator and extra head light sockets for the two high beams. You have to re-use the tail light pig tails though..

Its probably going to be Gray, not too sure yet, but most likely.. And I will never put that vinyl top back on my car.. My body guy just jumped in to the roof and its pitted and covered with bondo all along both sides where the vinyl seam was.. It all needs to be blasted out and filled..

How about the seal is it holding up Pac? What glue did you use to tack it together? How did you mider the top of the seal?

Im about to pick up a repo hood from a guy, the only problem being that he had cut a hole in the hood to make it a functional scoop, so I need a scoop. And any suggestions on how to, cost effectively, add a functional scoop?

I dropped the car off for paint and body yesterday!!!!!!!! Im already going through withdrawls.. I also have the metal vinyl top trim for the rear lower part of the roof for sale if anyone needs it.

I found some deluxe door pannels on Ebay for 287.95 plus 25 shipping.. Which still came out $17 cheaper than Mustangs Unlimited with free shipping.. YAY! Ohio Mustang was the store.. That and yesterday I ordered about $2000 worth of parts for my upcoming rebuild.. I cant wait. Boxes should start pouring in within the next couple of days.

Im trying to find a wiring kit for my 69 Grande. Can anyone tell me which brand is better to use? I would like to update the original to a newer fuse box and wiring. I know its a general question but has anyone replaced everything? What did you use? What was the outcome?

My FMX didnt want to shift back down to first when cold.. after stoping at a light, i would have to gas it a little to get it to kick down. It stopped doing that though.. and I dont know why.. hmm..

Same thing I was thinking.. 3.70 something in the rear and a .68 to 1 5 speed would be nice!

How much of a difference will a 5 speed make if I were to go from 275's to 350's does the 5th gear make up for any of the over revving? Or is it going to be about the same? I guess I need a tach to see exactly what my engine is doing on the highway, im still just guessing.

Did it have a stick on GTR emblem on the rear end.
