Looks pretty tidy! Nice to see another coupe on the go. What are your plans?

She's looking great! The coupes look great and are something different to all the sports roofs out there.
Vat69- I'm another f code base coupe owner and the important thing is it's a 69 Mustang they have all the attitude you need!

shaun071 got a reaction from Luzisek in Black/silver stripe 69 Coupe
Hi All, I'm tossing around the idea of painting my coupe black with silver striping and tail light panel. Same basic scheme as what's on it now, just silver where it's black and black where it's blue.
Thanks Shaun

Coupe/convertible stock trunk lid in steel. AFAIK no one makes the original.

shaun071 got a reaction from det0326 in Intake for FiTech
its an interesting topic and worth starting its own thread. Because Fitech is so new maybe people with other tbi systems could share their experiences. Also getting a range of vehicle use would be great too. What works for someone who just drag races their car would be different to somebody using tbi as a carb replacement on a daily driver.

shaun071 got a reaction from det0326 in Intake for FiTech
I'm no expert, but given the fuel is entering the intake in the same place as a carb, I think the dual plane/ single plane argument is valid. Yes the computer has better control, but at low revs your fuel/air mix is going through the intake same as a carbed system with all the poor atomisation issues etc if your engine doesn't need a single plane. A tbi system will probably mask the problem to some degree but it will still be there. A multipoint system where the injectors are at the port you only have air running through the manifold so you don't have issues with poor atomisation at low air speeds. Just my 2c.

shaun071 reacted to ray1970 in Opinions Needed -- Engine/Drivetrain Mods in 69 Mach
Hell ya its worth it.
Do we need FI
Do we need 5speeds and lower gears
Do we need sup. upgrades
Do we need 4 wheel disk breaks
Do we need 550hp
Do we need to piss the wife off by working on are cars
when she thinks a bathroom redo would be a better use of time.(money)
The answer is.__NO_______
But it make the driving experience far better and sometimes safer with each one I do.
The car I got off the side of the road 39 years ago is not the same car I have today.
Its safer-faster and far more dependable .....
WAY MORE FUN TO DRIVE..

I haven't been able to do anything for the last few months. Bulk overtime at work and the kids are keeping me busy. I've got the next two weeks off work so I hope to get the trunk area finished and the trans out so I can finish off the under floor area.

Coming together nicely mate. You've got some good progress there.

shaun071 got a reaction from Shep69 in EFI install options
69 fuel sender units are available with an inbuilt return fitting or you could modify yours to run the return line. I've used electric pumps on other cars in carbureted systems and they were noisy but you got used to it. That was 15+ years ago so who knows what they are like now.

shaun071 reacted to shaun071 in Seat belts
Hi Mark, have a look at these belts. They are for an aussie charger, but should be a close fit for the mustang. They include the drop link like my belts
http://www.hemiperformance.com.au/store2/p_609_Front-Retractable-Drop-Link-Seat-Belt-suit-Charger
These were my first option for my coupe until the local rip off merchant screwed me on my belts. If I had my time again I would have just bought these and installed them myself. Expensive mistake but you live and learn.

shaun071 got a reaction from schweigert in Seat belts
I moved the lower mount back to below the b pillar and can get full seat travel. I think it's the only way to get the belts to work properly and get proper clearance to the seat. Also rear passengers aren't tripping over seatbelts gettin in.

The Falcon styling is similar. Like a 71 stang nose on a torino body. You can still buy the Mad Max nose cones here in Aus.
