  1. Good move!!! I don't bother with that. I figure it's my money and I work hard for it. I save some for when I'm too old to enjoy it and the rest I spend on the things I can enjoy now. She gets to enjoy now too!! Back to the issue at hand... I think I'll do the Shelby Drop and see what it does... I can always put it back... right?? I just hate that nose sticking up in the air. Reminds me of some girls from high school.
  2. 70fastback; I get the cost thing. I was just wondering what your driving factor was. I am turning my 69 into a resto-mod for several reasons and my better half just rolls her eyes every time a new box shows up at the door. The F.A.S.T. MPFI system just came the other day and she was like... is that everything now? Of couse I said.... almost. She just laughed and walked away. She knows the drill. Its not our 1st rodeo. She knows there's a method to my madness on this one. It's going to be the down payment on our next house.
  3. Thanks everyone who replied. I appreciate the help and information greatly. My car has wheel spacers on all corners. I bought it that way. With Trans Am flares to accept VERY wide tires. The original owner was a weekend road course warrior. It has a little wonder in the steering when going down the road. I need to take it to a shop and get a "performance" alignment and see what happens. Maybe the Shelby Drop would aid in the "BSE", I don't know for sure but, I really want rid of the nose positive stance. I'm leaning towards the 2-1/2" drop spindles from FatMan but that might make the BSE worse. The wheel spacers muddy the equation for me and I am not a suspension expert. However, I want to keep them. The car looks really awesome with the wide-track. Please, anyone who has more experience with suspension geometry is welcome to speak-up and help me with this problem. I am getting paralysis by analysis. I'll post some photos as soon as I get a chance to shrink them down to fit the forums size requirements. Thanks everyone for your guidance; Kidd
  4. 70Fastback; I was wondering, since I'm going thru a similar issue on my Mach 1, Why did you choose the Shelby drop and not dropped spindles? Was it just a cost decision? I'm trying to get rid of the nose-positive stance of my car and am looking at the 2-1/2" dropped spindles from FatMan. I have been reading about the Shelby Drop but am a little confused as to which one I really need to accomplish my mission. I want the nose lower than the rear. Thanks your input; Kidd
  5. Fvike, NighOwl and Gnatsum... some real nice information about or 'Stangs. The direction of the horses running... good catch... most folks wouldn't notice that. The posts not part of the qtr... I hope I NEVER need this info. All but Shellby's and Bosses had them. That's 2 hits for that fact... sounds true to me and I've heard no disbutes so far. Once again... thanks to all who have took the time to respond. Kidd
  6. Harlan69Mach and Mike65; I think, after tallying up all the responses, even Ford would have an issue disputing it. THEY HAD THEM. Thanks guys Harlan..... Original owners... WOW... What a lucky man!! Kidd
  7. Maxum; Thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate it. AWESOME ride BTW!!!!! We may run into each other sometime. I have plenty of friends in Colorado and we make it back there several times a year. Mostly around the Denver area but we sneak out into the mountains as often as we can and even into Wyoming to see some long time buddies. Kidd
  8. Prayers1 and Cobra; Thank you so much for your fast response to my question. I was definitely confused on the issue. I figure the folks here on 1969Stang.com are the most informed bunch around. I have had a very wide spread of cars over the years, from many makers. My all time favorite is this Mach 1... I feel like the most fortunate person on the earth to have lucked into this Stallion. Built and lived in San Jose CA all its life... totally amazing specimen. To me, its better than a barn-find... because I own it!!!! Kidd
  9. Hi. I am new to the group and just bought a beautiful 1969 Mach 1. I have founds tons of great info on this site so far and am VERY glad I signed up. What I am having trouble with is the truth about the roof emblems. The car I have has them and its a numbers matching Mach 1. The previous owner told me he put them on because he liked them. I have researched several places to find the facts. I have seen both reponses. 1- Mach 1's did not have them and 2- Mach 1's did have them. Can anyone tell me for sure what the truth is. Thsi car has less than 45K ORIGINAL miles on it and I'd like it to be correct... despite the monster buit-in flairs someone in the past had put on for road racing. Check-out my album. They are really cool. Thank you all for your time. Hopefully, I will be able to contribute something worthwhile sometime. Kidd
