None of my gauges have ever worked and I have not messed with them at all.  I have aftermarket temp, oil and amp gauges where the radio used to be.  But I'd like to get the cluster working.  I haven't pulled the cluster out yet, but I am thinking of pulling it and refurbishing it in the basement over the winter.

Is it possible to test the gauges with the cluster out of the car?  Be nice to have it all done with working gauges before spring.

    thanks

I've read a lot of posts here, but wonder if anyone here has been running them for awhile?

Any do's, don'ts, if I did it over I'd do this instead?

I am thinking of changing over to fitech in the spring. Just looking for real world reviews.

1969Fstback got a reaction from JimmyByday in Eye burning smoke
Started car last week first since last fall. Has a 1 year old 570 stretch avenger and petronix dist. Timing is at 12. Pulled plugs last week and they were carbon fouled badly. Realized at same time my pvc valve was sucking oil due to no baffle in valve cover. Had a new set so put thos on, installed new plugs pulled carb checked the pv and that everything was clean. Put it all together and still eye burning smoke. Seems to run well in park, put it in gear and it pulls down hard. I am going to pull a plug in a bit and when I have time I am going to run a compression test. I've had it 3.5 years and of,thst it mostly been parked to fix rust and suspension. It really has never ran what I consider real well. I am pretty much done with the metal work and suspension. So I am concentratin on the running issues. Its a 302, has mild cam no idea size.

    Where should I start?

You could take the seat apart yourself, then snip the hog rings and put some foam down on the seat base yourself.  The tuck will still be flattened, but the seat height and firmness under your butt will be restored.
There is not much to the whole deal with seats.  If your springs are still in one piece, it is just collapsed and worn out foam that is letting you sink down.

Hog rings and pliers are available for the task.  It is just time consuming and a work out on the hands.

Cleaned and painted my 10 dollar CL original dash. Started off blue and came with near perfect right side filler. Ac vent came from mine. My dash was trashed. This one is in decent driver condition.

I cleaned out my garage and have a list of parts I need gone. I don't think any are worth shipping and some I don't think are worth saving, but figured I put them here before scrapping the.

    Free
1.slapper traction bars with built in shock mounts. Good shape all and all.
    2. Rusty chrome valve covers (302). Just a shade better then not having a set.
    3. Set of front brake assemblies. They have fairly new cylinders. I have the drums some place. Have decent brakes. No bolts.
4.long tube headers with mufflers. Back passenger side has hole on top. They are not in very good shape.
    5. Upper and lower control arms. Lowers look ok minus bushing and ball joint. No idea if they are oem or not. Uppers are in bad shape and almost didn't list them.

    Not free but cheap.

    1. Frint coil springs they seem in good shape took them off to put lowering springs on. Car is 302 car.
    2. Front valance with side lights and chin spoiler. Valance in decent shape minus front dent. Chin spoiler in ok shape.
    3. I have a arning/shelby drop template with bit. Bought it from another member. Gave 25 shipped.
    4. I have a set of rocker panel trim. Looks to be oem from shape. In good shape minus a few small dents.
    5. Moog upper control shock tower mounts. Has bolts, end caps, dust seals, no taps or grease fittings. More or less new.

The free items I do not think have enough value to ship. I am near cincinnati and I am in Dayton a few days a week. The moog, template and trim are probably the only things worth shipping. I'll get some pics of the trim tomorrow. Buyer pays shipping. Shoot me any offers on the not free parts.

There will be a car show Sat Aug, 27th in my home town of Sardinia.  Last year there was over 100 cars and they expect that much or more this year.  I hope to have my heap there and and my sons 65 c10 and my 63 F100.

They have 25 different awards to be given out.

My wife and I (more her) own a mom and pop restaurant in the middle of town.  We have our own award to give to which one we like the most.  I will prob have my son, who has the C10 pick. He's 9 so it's hard to tell what he will like the most.

Registration is from 9 am to noon.  Awards at 4:00, 10 dollar entry fee.
