check your dist. wiring if it is run to the alternator then power will continue even though the ignition is off.

I have all the crank pulleys and flywheel off my old motor to reuse. Plus the guy who has these the motors build them for classic mustangs all the time so im sure it will be right appreciate the info though. I am a Jeep guy and Jeep didnt do all this crazy stuff they used the same bellhousing for every engine from 4cyl to big block.

DVR set but likely it will be crate motors thats where advertising dollars and free parts come together.

This is going to be a nice weekend driver for my wife she sold her 95 boss mustang for this so it needs to gave power but still be drivable on the street.

Both are brand new rebuilds not used that is what I meant by fresh, sorry. Both are bored .30 over and have had the heads completely gone through, completely new bearings, seals, push rods, and everything. They are also complete Carb to pan including dizzy.

So my 15k mile motor that came with my project appears to have 115k and only 2 oil changes ever now that I have dug into it so its gone. I have a friend if a friend who is getting rid of two fresh 351 windsor motors. One is an 80's block with a crane cam the other is a roller windsor block with I believe an e303 cam. He is willing to let either one go for 1700. He will bolt on a holley street performer intake and either an edelbrock 700 carb or a 670 street avenger. For an even 2000. First which motor would you go with? And would you use that intake and carb fire that price?

Ok I am also looking at a 390 that was bought to put in a 70's truck this will fit and bolt to my fmx just fine correct?

I am working on a 69 coupe project I just purchased. The motor is a stock 351 from a LTD. It has approx. 75k miles on it and has never been rebuilt it does run and sounds fine. I am going to pull it out and replace the gaskets if I keep it so that it doesnt leak. I also just came accross a local guy selling a 351 that has been completely rebuilt approx. 5k ago and was bored out and has supposed head work. It is complete except the carb but It is only set up for a two barrell and I would prefer to run a 4 barrell. Anyway he is asking 750 but I think I can get it for 600. Do you guys think that it is worth the money for the rebuilt motor or should I just stick with what I have.

My interior is out so that is not a problem it is just that I dont see any way to adjust it side to side. I can only loosen the lid bolts to adjust back to front.

As a comparison for you I just purchased a 69 coupe. It has already had all the body panels replaced new fenders, floors, fiberglass trunk w/spoiler and quarter extensions, new dash pad, new bumpers, running 351 really only needed put back together and new brakes but im doing a resto on it to get it complete. I paid $2,000

Awesome night owl that is just the part I was talking about. Even better news is that I found both of those in the box of Misc. parts that came with the car. I there any way to adjust the left to right adjustment of the trunk to get an even gap on both sides.

Next question is do the bolts that hold these go straight through or do they have an nut on the inside

top or bottom of the hinge hole? Can you also measure from the actual trunk edge near the window.

There is another Carlisle show Oct 3rd through the 7th. I plan on attending and hoping to find the last stuff I need to get this project ready for paint.

Ya I am going to I am still deciding whether or not to tackle the headliner myself. Also is there any isolators in the door to keep the door glass from slopping back and forth or is it just the seals along the top that I dont have installed right now. When I shut the door the glass bangs back and forth the glue is solid but there is no top seals installed

Yes it slides on the mounts but has no through holes to mount it.

My 69 coupe project came with a new fiberglass Shelby style trunk lid. There is no holes through it for mounting though and no template. Has anyone had this issue? Or can anyone measure where on the trunk lid the mounting holes are?

This is one of the reasons I chose this over the others I was looking at was the sheet metal work being done saves a lot of time and money. Hopefully I can get the wife to work fast this weekend and get the front end done and prep the motor to be pulled for new gaskets. Looking to get Magnum 500 wheels best price i can find is on Mustangs Unlimited anyone find anything better?

I am planning or of a restomod for now. Trying to keep it mostly stock looking but with a few Mach treats like hood, mirrors, wheels, and the trunk thats on it is a shelby style which I like. Going to keep the motor and trans stock at the moment. Going to pull the engine and regasket it just to ensure they are good but nothing more at the moment. She is thinking red paint probably a candy with some stripe or flame. She has always wanted to do a ghost flame but Im not so sure how it will look. I dropped the trans pan yesterday and it looked good so I changed the filter added a new gasket and put her together. The rear brakes got replaced last weekend along with parking brake cables. I am converting the front drum brakes to disc this weekend probably the parts arrived yesterday. I also have new seat skins and carpet to install. The headliner needs installed which is kind of screwing me up. I am not sure if I should have the window pulled prior to taking it to the upholsterer to hang the headliner I purchased or what. I also need to complete a little body work around the rear window that will require the window to be out. As of now the plan is to finish the brakes this weekend and check all the bushings and replace the shocks this weekend. Then pull the engine and get it cleaned up, then upholstery, followed by body work and paint. I am hoping to have it done by my wifes birthday in Nov.

My wife wants to do most of it with me so she can learn some of the stuff she doesnt know and build it also. This makes it a little slow and aggravating at times but still great times. While she was finishing up the dash I was looking at the trunk base which I hated. I wanted a solid floor with carpet that was removable to access everything. I built a floor out of osb board and covered it in trunk carpet. It had to be built in three sections to allow for easy removal one of the sections folds in half. I liked the way it turned out and decided to make a package tray myself as well. I cut a piece of thin plywood to fit and covered it with left over carpet. I towed it home and pulled out all the misc parts inside and power washed it inside and out. All the metal was great which was nice for me. I began with the interior so that I could get the dash back together and start the old girl. After ordering a new gauge bezel and circuit board along with a set of interior screws (previous owner already had a brand new dash pad) the dash was back together. There is now fuel lines from the new tank to the engine so a line to a gas can and a new battery later she started right up. Engine sounds great and trans shifts. Didnt drive it since the brakes had not been checked and the tires barely hold air.

She decided she would rather have an older mustang then her 95 so a few months ago she sold it and we began looking. I found a local craigslist ad for a 1969 coupe and went to look. Long story short it was a 69 coupe originally a 6 cylinder car that was converted to a 351W with an FMX trans and a 8 inch rear back in the 70's. The previous owner had bought it off the original owner a lifelong friend and was creating a father son project. They replaced all the sheet metal that needed it doors, front fenders, floor pans etc. They purchased a rear fiberglass deck lid and rear quarter extensions. The interior was in a shed and the car had not been started in 5-6 years. I could see the potential and paid 2,000.
