  1. my car is finally getting painted and paint guy wants me to show him how the tail panel needs to be painted . the more questions he asked the more I realized I did not no. I have seen plenty of pics but still not sure if underneath trunck lid needs to be painted. if anyone has any tips or pics would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I would not go less than 6 inch backspace. I have 20x10 with 295 35 20 on 5 3/4 backspace with no fender lip and still will rub if rearend gets off angle. 6 to 6 1/4 backspace on 10 inch rim would have been better for a 295 series tire, i have like 1 3/4 inch left on inside clearance.
  3. ok the time has come for me to get the car painted. after my last bad dealings with body shop on my torino and another shop going bankrupt on me, i am seriously thinking about doing this one myself.i dont have body shop skills but am good mechanically. found out from people that have looked at car that alot of work has already been done like quater panels, tale panel, front fenders, and floor pans have been replaced. i guess my first question would be is after i strip it to bare metal what needs to be done next to protec metal . any advice greatly appreciated
  4. i installed vv kit with the m2300k kit, i ordered the rear adapters witout the spacers, same as stock. i have 20x10 295 35 20 5.75 backspace had to completely remove fender lip weld back up and grind smooth. my 18x10 295 35 18 with 5.5bs still rubs with lip removed. my car prob sets 2'' below stock ride height. wish i would have went 6''bs both wheels
  5. i went with the non adjustable coilovers, they are not firm or soft somewhere in the middle maybe a little more towards firm side. they have adjustable shocks but i am pleased with the non adjustable
  6. i installed the ridetech kit front and rear on my 69 and i love it. it requires the welding of 4 tabs for the upper arms which will be the last thing done after everything else is bolted up and centered. i think the ridetech rear kit is about the same as tcp. rod and custom out of florence sc has a complete bolt on kit for about the same price. i went through motorstate and got the front and rear ridetech kit for 3100. every piece of the suspension on the car was replaced. the best money i have put in the car by far.
  7. yeah the silver jade is growing on me more and more. when i first bought the car it was def going to be black, but now i believe i will keep it jade. i hope to get some more work done on it this winter but want to keep it driveable for the pretty days. i dont want it to be the car on jack stands in the corner of the shop, because for me thats were they tend to stay. like my 90 gt , which was my first car, has been an ongoing project since 1998.
  8. thanks for the nice comments. the car in the background is a 1971 torino hardtop. here are a few more pics
  9. heres my project. got a 408w with b&m c6, 20x10 with 295-35-20 rear and 18x7 with 225-40-18 fronts. ridetech coilover suspension front and rear. strong arms front and triangulated rear. unisteer manual rack conversion, vintage venom adapters with cobra r disk brakes all 4 corners. car is original silver jade white mach 1 interior with 4 speed 351w. my plans are now to drive it while working on body.
