  1. I am home... That's what the post above was saying... Not sure if I am going to restore it now. There is fiberglass everywhere. The previous owner said only the floor pans were fiber glassed. But there is fiberglass everywhere.
  2. Well, I've finally made it home. I inspected the car yesterday and I am not sure at this point I am going to restore it. I might turn it into a race car or something. But the inner frame is all rusted out. I didn't realize those area were as bad as they are. In the end I am not sure I want to put that much time into it.
  3. That I can't answer and wouldn't be able to for a couple weeks until I get home.
  4. There is only about 2" of play in the 05+ parking cable when it's installed on an S197. They don't leave much slack at all. Edit: In fact, the only slack that there is, is on the first part of the cable that is attached to the e-brake handle. That's where the tension is set. The rest of it is fit very tight. Tight enough that you have to man handle it to get the union separated from the front to the rear.
  5. In theory you should be able to splice a wire onto it. You just have the plug? No wire coming from it? If it were me, to save time and effort I would just put in my own jack and run it straight to the stereo.
  6. 07-09 GT500's came with that 6 speed shift knob (screw on) and also a matching leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching. The 10-12's came with a anthracite material shift boot with white lace. I haven't had my hands on or in a 2013 yet, but since the interior hasn't changed, I'd imagine it to be very similiar to the 10-12 GT500.
  7. Well you are reading this on the internet... haha... But I will say I am a self proclaimed expert in the S197, have taken several apart to the shell during builds and swap, I can gurantee that it's a screw on. In fact even the 05-13 are all screw ons.
  8. All the 05+ Mustangs are screw on shift knobs. What to you mean by press on.
  9. Looking great! S197 center console... So 05-09 mustang
  10. It's short for subscribed. That way I get an email when there is an update. :)
  11. Looking great! I have one question. Why did you cover the CF with pait and didn't leave any below exposed for the world to drool over? Now only you are going to know it's there.
  12. Looks great, can't see it come together.
  13. Borla could/should use that as an advertising poster... That's how f'n clean that is!!!
  14. I really appreciate everyone's response. Sometimes when you want something and have that gut instinct that something isn't right, it's better to be talked from the ledge before going any further. I've contacted the seller again. I will see what he has to say... Thanks for the link to shermatt, I will be sure to get in touch with them.
  15. Yeah... the car is at a body shop and he said it was redone properly... Are rotisserie restores not worth more?
  16. First I will apologize for wasting your time and I hate making threads like this anywhere, but I am deployed still and can't really just call anyone. So you guys are stuck with me. I have been watching this car on eBay for a little while. Talk with the owner tonight. Though he believe the engine/trans to be true to the car, he said it was a Cleveland... However, all that aside... What should one pay for it as is and what do you think the value would be around once back together, maybe not 100% factory, but close... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140759944053&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  17. I only can hope my car comes up looking half as nice as yours!
  18. I am eager to get started. 5 more months. I am happy with this platform as it's going to be my first attempt at restoring something, welding, and I have decided to lead the car rather than use filler. So it may take me a while, but I am hoping to learn a lot! I did buy the car based on the first few pictures, other than that, it was unseen in person. I thought I was just buying the shell. But it appears that it came with a lot more stuff than I thought it would. http://s1139.photobucket.com/albums/n551/Eleven-6/1969%20Mustang/
  19. A few more shots from the family...
