  1. Ethanol sucks! I have had problems with it in gas ever since they started adding it in. Luckily in the small town that I live in there are 3 gas stations that sale gas without ethanol. I personally can tell a significant difference in fuel mileage. The non ethanol costs a few cents more but it's worth it to me!
  2. Deck lid, quarter extentions, rear valance, bumper and side scoops installed.
  3. Looks awesome! I'd sure like to hear it if you don't mind posting a video, i'm trying to decide on mufflers for mine.
  4. Those are some impressive numbers, very nice! I sure wish I could have put my engine on a dyno. What components did you go with? I can see AFR's i'm assuming 205cc
  5. Thanks everyone! Yeah I waiting to do a/c and interior before I put the doors on if I can stand it that long haha and yeah the the golf cart is my grandparents transportation around the yard. Hopefully we will start putting body panels on tonight, planning on starting at the back and working towards the front of the car.
  6. Yeah the sound on my camera phone isn't to great and the open headers are extremely loud, it seems to be running pretty good though. I'm sure it will need some fine tuning.
  7. My dad driving the car right after I did for the first time.
  8. Got her going today threw the drive shaft in and took a spin up the road! First time the cr has moved under its own power in nearly twenty years! Going to try to post some videos later.
  9. Well I knew this was going to happen and did it anyways because I love the sound of a radical idle but now I am in need of some type of vacuum pump. Comp cams says that vacuum brakes require a minimum of 16 in. of vacuum and I have 9 in. of vacuum at idle. I am looking into getting a self contained electric vacuum pump to solve my problem. I have looked at a few different kinds but I am not sure which one to go with. I know that most of these pumps are very loud, so I would like to go with one that is the smallest and makes the least amount of noise. I am pretty sure that just a canister would not solve my problems? Any suggestions? (besides a different cam) Do any of you guys use electric pumps or know which ones are the least noisy?
  10. I've had this problem with a 427 and a high torque/gear reduction starter along with a new battery solved it. The problem only occurred when the car was hot and then turned off for a few minutes. I would also make Sure that the battery and starter cable you have are plenty big enough especially if the battery is in the trunk.
  11. Haha nope I don't plan on getting rid of this one! Maybe I can pass it on to my kids one day when I have some. I like getting to spend time with my dad working on it. My grand dad is 82 and he helps a good bit too, I think he might be more excited about the car than I am. It defiantly has been a great experience for all 3 of us. I didn't have any complaints about getting car parts for Christmas lol
  12. Well Ash I have never actually seen the car fully assembled. To give you and idea of how long it's been, I'm 22 and my dad says that when I was about 4 or 5 we went for a ride in it before he started tearing it down. My dad bought the car in the early 80s when he was in high school and it had no engine in it. Right after he got it running and a new paint job a lady ran a stop sign and he hit her. The front end was replaced, then a few years after that a drunk man ran a stop sign and hit him in the right rear, and of course in both of those incidents they had no insurance and he didn't get any money out of them. The last wreck bent the rear end housing and crushed the whole right rear quarter all the way up to the roof. He then replaced the 9 inch rear with another and he and his auto body teacher at trade school did a bondo job and he drove the car some and drag raced it some. In later years when I came along he gave me the car and it has seemed like a life long project. I remember helping replace the floor pans when I was about 10 or 12 and then the quarter. From the age 12 until I was about 20 I got mustang parts for Christmas From my Dad haha.
  13. Thanks guys. I felt a lot better after hearing the car run. I haven't ever mentioned it on here before but we have done a ton of work to it over the years. If I can dig up some pictures I will be sure to post them. We replaced 3 floor pans, the whole right rear quarter panel where it was smashed in. When I say right rear quarter I don't just mean the skin. We had the corner of the roof hanging and replaced the inner and outer fender well, the piece that goes between the inner fender and gas tank, the whole Skelton on the inside of the fender which came off of another 69 fast back and the skin. The quarter was by far the most difficult and could not have been done without the help of a very good friend that does awesome body work. We also replaced the radiator support and the piece that connects to it and holds the battery tray. I am sure where there are a lot of things that I have left out but I noticed I have not mentioned this in any of my posts. The car has defiantly came a very long ways.
  14. Here it is, not a great video. Once I get the msd finished up and the carb and timing dialed in I'll post a better one.
  15. Update! Got the car running about 2 weeks ago and broke the cam in. Had a slight problem with the second set of points in my dual point Mallory distributor. Just took the second set of points out and broke the cam in. Going to post a video ASAP. Now we have been wiring up the alt, coil, voltage regulator, msd, etc.
  16. I also ran into this problem with my RHS's. I made my own it wasn't to bad once I found the material i needed.
  17. That's good news! Those are the heads I've got on mine.
  18. I got them from summit racing. They are licensed by ford racing I think the brand is Proform. I think they have them in grey blue and black.
  19. Well I've got to work for the next 10 nights but I am sure my dad will work on it some. I'm ready to hear it run!
  20. I am glad you posted this thread because I am also about to be installing ac in my car but I do not know much at all about aftermarket kits. I have heard good things about vintage air but don't know very much about it or other options out there. Drew
  21. Haha I thought the burn out was pretty weak myself!
