  1. Thanks for the ideas! Keep them coming please. Does anybody have speakers in the package tray?
  2. I am looking for some rear speakers that will fit in my mach 1 that don't require me cutting the a holes out bigger. What do you guys have? Thanks, Drew
  3. Thanks! They are new rear springs from mustangs unlimited. They were bought about 5 years ago and I have no idea any of the specifics. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be factory replacements. They have settled some since I have been driving the car a little bit. I like them to sit level or just a little higher in the back and I think these are just right.
  4. The first picture was taken back in the 90's sometime when we were replacing the quarter. The rest were taken last week, I have made more progress since then but I haven't taken any pictures. I have tweeked the alignment of the fenders and doors since these were taken. I had the windshield and back glass done last week and in the same day the 2.5 inch exhaust with the spintech 3000 series mufflers at a local muffler shop. I think he did a pretty good job. This is the first time the car was put on a lift and I found a few places that need touching up on the underside. These are iphone pictures so there not that great. I am going to try to take some with a good camera soon.
  5. In the past couple of weeks I have finally started back work on the mustang. It's been a while and I didn't exactly know where to start but were finally making progress and its coming together. I will post some pictures soon.
  6. Ive got 15x7 4inch Back space with 235-60-15 up front and 15x8 with 4.5 in backspace and 255-60-15 in the back so far they fit good with no rubbing but I don't have the front fenders on yet. After all of my research on here and other forums I concluded that the only way to keep the 275-60-15 from rubbing is to roll the fender lip in so I went with the 255 to be safe. They look pretty good.
  7. I appreciate it mike but I'm not sure if that bracket for a Cleveland will fit my Windsor. I don't have a factory bracket either because car didn't come with a/c. I think I am going to try to make what I have work. Thanks though, Drew
  8. Thanks guys. The car has been a long ways. I sure was hoping I would be taking it down to cruising the coast this year. We're leaving Wednesday so I don't think the 69 is going to make it. Taking a couple of other cars though, we always have a good time down there between the car shows (boring), casinos, old guys street racing, and of course the burnouts where the kid in the crowd standing on the side of the road dumps a bucket of ocean water on the road for you and tells you to burn them down! Priceless haha
  9. Thanks etel64! No I have not fitted the hood yet. The compressor is my main concern at the moment. I just got a 1.5 inch drop base air cleaner and I hope it will be enough. Will be test fitting the hood soon.
  10. more pics Took this on my phone about a week ago while testing the new MSD tac adapter, looks to be moving the hand a little slow but I guess it will have to do.
  11. Thought I would add some photos of my progress over the past months. Has been going slow but i'll get there one day. Vintage air is almost complete, new headliner has been installed, doors have been put on, and i'm sure there are a few other things I am forgetting since last time.
  12. I've still got a ton of work to do and the engine bay is no where near finished. Thought I would throw some more progress pics in there also. Sure was hoping I would have it finished before cruising the coast next weekend but she won't be making the trip with us.
  13. The bracket came in the kit from vintage air for a 1969 without factory a/c
  14. Etel64 I would greatly appreciate some pictures. My compressor is mounted on the drivers side and the alt is on the passenger. Rhs(racing head service) is the brand name of my aluminum heads sorry for the confusion. Do you think your hood would have closed without lowering the mount? Thanks, Drew
  15. Hey guys, I am finshing up my install of the vintage air system on my 69. Everything went pretty smooth except for mounting the compressor on the aftermarket RHS head. It wasn't to difficult just had to drill out one hole a good bit larger so that a bigger bolt could be used to match the hole in the head. I had to slightly slot the very bottom hole on the mount also to get a bolt in it but the compressor is on there now and it looks great. My only concern is that height of the compressor. It looks like it is going to hit or come very close to hitting the hood. Has anyone else had this issue? I know a couple of the guys on here have vintage air so I thought it would be a good idea to ask before I start modifying my bracket. Engine is a 351w, factory replacement engine mounts. The packaging the compressor mounting bracket came in was labled 289-351w but said nothing about what car the mount was for so I am assuming vintage air uses that mount for all cars with those engines. I will try to post pictures tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Drew
  16. I'm not sure what stall your running but I am running this cam with a toploader. Haven't tested it out much yet because I am not finished putting the car together. If this cam is in your price range it would probably be a good idea with your set up that is if you like a rough idle. I am pretty sure it would be alot cheaper than a custom grind. http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CC&Product_Code=35-250-4&Category_Code=FTCAMSXE If you would like to hear the idle I can post a link. Not sure what kind of carb to recommend. From my experience its more about personal preference. I am using a Mighty Demon 750 and according to the Barry Grant website they recommend vacuum secondarys for cars weighing over 3200lbs, since our cars weigh right at 3200 and I am using a straight shift I decided to go with mechanical secondarys. If your wanting a choke you may want to look at a different model. I decided to go with a mighty demon because we have one on our 427 cobra and it runs and performs great. Decided I did not need a choke because with 2 taps on the throttle and it starts every time.
  17. I thought you guys would like these videos, I don't know a Ford guy that wouldn't. I started to post it under the video section but I don't think anybody ever looks at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06Pjw6Iiwxg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmmZMxY1rXY
  18. I have no idea, but I should be able to let you know sometime this week. I plan to start on it this afternoon.
  19. Well according to my girlfriend I don't get in a hurry for anything so I think I'll be okay even though my patiences do wear thin every now and then. Thanks for the info I will be sure to check and see if I have everything that is supposed to come with the kit. I'm curious to see how it is going to do with my big cam. I think I have a solution if the compressor drags the engine down to much at idle. I've got an old autolite carb with a contraption on it that bumps the idle up with a 12 volt signal.
  20. I just got my vintage air the other day in the mail and I am planning on putting it in next week. I know some of you guys on here have installed it so I thought it would be a good idea to ask for tips or if their is anything I need to know to help the process go along as smooth as possible. Thanks, Drew
  21. When I put my 351w and 4 speed in a couple of months ago we used an engine hoist and I had 2 other people helping me. All you really need is one other person. I jacked the front of the car up slightly so that someone could get up under there with a floor jack. We put the engine and transmission together leaving the headers, water pump, and all accessories off of the engine so that nothing got hung on the radiator support. We then lifted the hoist up with engine and trans up high and tilted it with a load leveler. My dad sat on where the cowl goes straddling the transmission and engine. He guided it in as I lowered the hoist and moved it toward the car. Once we got the engine sitting down in the bay he moved up under the car with the floor jack on the transmission to raise it up so that the engine mount bolt holes would line up. After some beating and cussing we got the engine bolted in. Then used a jack stand to support the transmission and put the cross member on. The engine leveler helped some until we got the whole setup in the car and then it got hung on the fire wall, but other than that the install went pretty smooth doing it like that. Drew
  22. Thanks again! I guess now I am going to decide if I even need a cross over pipe, but I did read some where while doing my research that a crossover can help reduce drone and sound (have a hard time believing that). Spintech claims that their 3000 series do not have the annoying drone. Hopefully they are being truthful. Guess I can go get a opinion from the guy at the muffler shop now. Decisions, decisions........
  23. Thanks guys! Very helpful info. I am still doing some research on it. Thanks for the links buckeye they are very helpful. I ordered the spin tech 3000 series today. I got the 2.5 inch offset inlet and centered outlet. Hopefully I will be happy with them.
  24. That's some very nice looking craftsmanship Ash!
  25. Well its time to stop pissing off the neighbors and I need some advise in doing so. I'm going to have a full exhaust system ran on my car as soon as I can make up my mind what I want. I have finally decided on mufflers (spintech 3000) and I believe the correct configuration that I need is offset inlet and centered outlet (correct me if i'm wrong please). I just cannot decide if I want to go with an x-pipe or h-pipe. I have heard that x-pipes flow better but I have also heard that all they are for is equalizing the exhaust pressure and that an h-pipe would be fine. I personally think that a well made x-pipe would be the way to go if room allows for it. What do you guys think? I need some opinions please. Thanks, Drew
