Pulled out both air vents and was expecting at least on the drivers side to be rusted out but was happy to see just surface rust in spots. The cowl passed the water test and appears to be in good shape. The drivers firewall around the dimmer switch is rotted out and I knew this. So need to check if there is a reason for this, so all this made for a good day.

20+ yrs ago took the thing apart to repair the points and now can't remember they come off so I can get the lens off. Really don't want to wreck a working clock.

Over the years tried different things but I'm checking to see what others are choosing for their weapon of choice, keeping in mind of saving at least one part of sheet metal being separated.  I've been using this 2 step cobalt bit. While it cut through like butter I don't like the size of the hole it leaves on the bottom piece of metal.

Those dimensions may be out there, but I've never come across them. For reference, my car hasn't had front end damage and these are my measurements.

From the inside/rear edge of the lower radiator support to the rear center of the lower edge of the strut rod mounting plate hole is 8" both sides, and 90° out to the outer frame rail lip is 7-1/2" both sides.

These cars are famous for not being symmetrical side to side, or with other cars.

My car had minor front end damage at one point in it's life so it's possible the body shop fixed the part in my car also, welding the tab back on.

I went & looked at the piece off my 69 Coupe & it looks like it is all one piece with no evidence of any welding on the lower section. When the lower front valance got damaged this area was commonly damaged also. I can take a couple close up pics of mine after work if you need me to.

My floor mats are in need of being refurbishing. I'm checking to see if anyone has had any luck recoloring/dying theirs. Hard to see in the pic's but in places it looks like when you bend a piece of colored plastic you get that washed out/discolored look. Any suggestions appreciated.

Looking for a little help if someone with an original hood latch bracket could give a picture of one as I can't seem to find a good pic of one. As you can see someone hacked/modified this one.  I'm hoping that I can save this one. Also curious how it is painted. Hard to see with this pic but the bracket appears to have had a black primer then had over spray of color on the bottom half and then hand painted black. The grille bracket that mounts on it has been totally covered in red oxide primer, then over spray of color on the lower half and then hand painted black.
