  1. do you also have the in-radiator trans cooler ?
  2. I'd put that on my fireplace mantle :)
  3. Good stuff Ash ! Hope I don't run into problems in those area's. Those crankshafts are beauties aren't they :)
  4. Use the same process when repairing plastic bumpers
  5. Pulled out both air vents and was expecting at least on the drivers side to be rusted out but was happy to see just surface rust in spots. The cowl passed the water test and appears to be in good shape. The drivers firewall around the dimmer switch is rotted out and I knew this. So need to check if there is a reason for this, so all this made for a good day.
  6. Nice, some giddy up and go ! Going the automatic route ?
  7. I'm guessing that I've made it about 1/2" longer. From the back of bracket:
  8. So been working on the project almost every day but not a whole bunch to show for it. When I stopped working on it things sort of just got piled into it. So while a lot of members have/having their car painted, I fixed the hood latch bracket as someone made a mess on the lower part of it. Wee.... Also welded up and straightened the grille support as it was twisted and torn in a few spots. Won't weld the lower tab on the latch bracket till I make sure of the length as I don't have any measurements to go by yet. While I could just buy new parts I really want to save as much of original stuff as possible when feasible just because I'm that way.
  9. So that just looks killer ! Well worth the wait. In the sun it should be awesome.
  10. So how is this coming along ? Try any big tires in there yet ?
  11. Good to see all your work and research coming to reality Dave !
  12. This is what it looks like. The tab lays on top of bracket and appears to have a couple of tabs of its own on top either side. Dave yours seems a little rough also, they wouldnt do this at the factory? Front: Back:
  13. One of mine, has air shocks but didn't put very many miles on after they were put on.
  14. Look forward to see her in paint ! Hopefully the last sleepless nite ;) Looking great Dave
  15. Thanks Dave, I appreciate you taking the time ! Yes it does look like the main bracket exstends down and the L tab is tacked on. I can see how that part would probably twist right up if someone didn't spray lubracation on the valance mount bolt if it was a bit rusty
  16. Thanks guys ! So it looks like the mounting point on the bottom for the front valance had been damaged and some one did a very poor repair (to me anyways ) So umm, could I bother for a close up pic of that tap area so I can correct mine properly and length of it (from the wide part to bottom of the valance tab). It almost looks like it was welded to the wide part of the bracket - ? Thx muchly :)
  17. Looking for a little help if someone with an original hood latch bracket could give a picture of one as I can't seem to find a good pic of one. As you can see someone hacked/modified this one. I'm hoping that I can save this one. Also curious how it is painted. Hard to see with this pic but the bracket appears to have had a black primer then had over spray of color on the bottom half and then hand painted black. The grille bracket that mounts on it has been totally covered in red oxide primer, then over spray of color on the lower half and then hand painted black.
  18. I've posted this before and no one posted anything lol but anyways my brother has used the Mercedes black on his Mopar and it looks really really good and clean's up well. I'll be using it on my Mach.
  19. Not sure if you"ve seen this thread I started awhile back but maybe it could help some. http://1969stang.com/forum/index.php/topic/47046-front-fender-apron-measurements-please/
  20. Good to see you back at it. Has been a great thread so far !
  21. Great to have the son get some time on the car ! Car is looking fantastic ! Look forward to seeing the front done.
  22. I don't really like the MTF's as much as the RB's, but would like to see an hood open comparison. Also don't like when they put a big company logo it. Pretty expensive to be doing advertising for them.
