  1. I'm just finishing up the front suspension on our Mach 1. I went with new upper and lower control arms. One ball joint was loose and the others had the rubber boots split and were rusty. Also the rubber bushings were hard and cracked. Replaced the rubber bushings on the strut rods and all the connections on the sway bar. 43 year old rubber isn't very flexable. I set the spindle, hub and brake drum assy on an inverted bucket while replacing the arm so I didn't have to disconect the brake lines. Have that all back together and replacing the tie rod ends now. I agree that a ball joint removal tool is a big help and not very expensive. Hope to be headed to town for a front end alignment soon.
  2. For part numbers you might call Boss Motors (Ford dealer) and ask for Greg Boss. He has a 69 Boss (original owener). He still has the Ford parts books for 69-70 Mustangs. The number is 785-562-3696.
  3. Think they are centered as they are not left and right parts. The same part fits both sides. I do have the original one off our Mach 1 if you would like a measurement
  4. Mike, Sorry for thr delay, hope these help. Hard to get a shot of the lower bracket.
  5. Our Mach 1 is a base model like yours, I'll try to get take some photos in the next day or two and post up for you.
  6. Here is a photo of the strut rod on our 69 Mach 1 in its original configuration. We are the original owners so know this is the way it came from the factory. Took the photo before taking it apart last week.
  7. I did a little playing in Photoshop. Here is my version of the restmod beside our Mach 1. Would make a great pair to take to shows.

  9. You might try this guy, he repaired the radio in our Mach 1. http://www.fredsclassicradios.com/index.html
  10. When unloaded the upper ball joint can have up to 1/4" play. This is per the 69 shop manual.
  11. Guess I would stay with Acapulco Blue that my wife ordered originally.
  12. Thanks for the info. The production numbers for 69 show 56,022 of 63A standard sportsroof, 5,958 of 63B deluxe sportsroof and 72,458 of 63C Mach 1. This is a total of 134,438 sports roofs. Thus the 5,693 H-code 3spd is only 4% of the total sportsroof production for 69.
  13. I have been following your thread. I think it is great that you found your Mach 1 and that the owner is willing to sell to you. That helped me decide to post my question.
  14. Our Mach 1 has a 351-2V with a 3-speed manual. This was the base Mach 1 package in 69. At shows people tell me that must be rare as they have never seen a Mach 1 with a 3-speed. Any body have any information on this or a Marti report telling how many were configured this way? <!-- start: postbit_signature -->
  15. Since it is a Mach 1 you might try mach1club.com also.
  16. The 69 Ford Shop Manual confirms 69Ravenconv's information.
